Is it time for my swan song?

I am certain that there is better than a 50-50 chance that all of what I am about to say is a product of having been bitten by the 'black dog.' In a previous post I wrote about this, providing a description of being beset with depression arising from the circumstances of life. One possible manifestation of such a state is the tendency to think that life is nearing its end, that one is getting ready to kick the proverbial bucket.

But let me emphasize I am NOT suicidal or homicidal. I have never wished to harm another human being in any way. And I believe that only God gets to decide when this life is over, not me. Thus, such a thing is not even remotely a part of my thinking.

My problem is more of a feeling, an internal thought process that has led me to believe that my time on this earth is nearing its end.

Now, don't start to panic or to become alarmed. All of this, as I said, is probably more of a product of my emotional state than anything else. Nonetheless, the feeling is there, and I have been forced by circumstances to at least consider the fact that I may be nearing the end -- this year or next year. My Mother, God rest her soul, died at roughly the same age I am now. So did my beloved maternal grandmother.

When I think of the losses I have encountered throughout my life, sometimes I wonder how on earth I lived this long. I don't see how I survived it. Despite outward appearance, I am a deeply feeling person, deeply empathetic to the suffering of others. I have usually been able to cover that up in order to avoid disclosing to others what I am truly feeling internally. And it has seemed to me that with each loss I experienced, with each disappointment, with each failure to reach what to me was an important goal, I felt each blow deeply within my body, with each organ and each cell taking a hit that gradually depleted me of energy, fight, and motivation, the life beaten right out of me.

There are aspects of my life that I never write about. Privacy has prevented it. But needless to say there is much going on behind the scenes that make this existence painful, physically and emotionally. Often I wake up wondering how on earth I am going to make it another day. And then at night I wonder how on earth I am going to recoup my internal resources to face the next day. Sleep is difficult under these circumstances, not to mention the physical pain I encounter that makes sleep impossible.

I told you about some of my losses -- my Mother and my Grandmother -- but this is far from the gist of it. I lost others in my family that meant the world to me. I was very close to all of them, and I miss them terribly. And then, there was my beloved dog. Some people hear or read my account of my special bond with Bo, a Lhasa Apso who seemed to know me in a way one would not associate with a dog, and they find the whole thing amusing. But Bo was special in every way. He was like the child I never had. He WAS my child. And when he died (I had him for 15 years), it was a blow that I had never experienced except for my Mother's death. The fact that he is gone has left a major gap in my heart, a gaping hole in which there is nothing but emptiness. I have had many other dogs all of my life, being a "dog person." I have a good little dog now. But none of them are like Bo. That is not their fault. It is just that Bo was that unique and special. To this day I wish he would appear out of nowhere to lick my hand as he always did, and then find himself a place to lay at my feet, giving me last brief lick on my foot to let me know he was there just before going to sleep.

Of course the physical malady I have does not help matters at all. I get tired of constant pain, inflammation, eye problems, and a dozen other aspects of this disease.

Looking ahead to the future of our nation, frankly I don't see any way out of the current predicament peacefully. It will take an all out war to reclaim and restore the authority of the Constitution and its Bill of Rights. And I am not jumping for joy over the midterm elections next month. The people we are fighting are experts at fighting dirty. They lie at the drop of the hat. They throw people in jail to silence them. They undermine the Constitution and our rights by using their like-minded vermin in Congress, the vast bureaucracy, state governments, and the courts. If they can't get the people to approve of their tyranny at the ballot box, then they get one of their blacked robed scoundrel judges to "rule" on it on their behalf. And let's not forget these people wrote the book on voter fraud and election tampering.

Frankly, I don't know for sure that our fellow citizens will help us in getting rid of the Senate Majority. There is simply too much corruption in the system. Too many payoffs in exchange for votes. This means we get another term in which Harry Reid leads the Senate, he and his Democrat vermin who are actually nothing more than "progressive" Marxists.

I don't trust the electorate anymore. Right next door to me, North Carolina on one side and Georgia on the other, the brain dead vermin are getting ready to vote Kay Hagan right back into the Senate, where she votes 96 percent of the time in favor of Obama's Fascist-Marxist programs. And down in Georgia is yet another Obama-Clinton worshipper waiting in the wings, Michelle Nunn. If they do this in North Carolina and Georgia, then I will no longer be able to hold out any hope for the salvation of this nation as a Constitutional Republic based on human liberty.

Don't even try to come out with your rank stench of horse ca ca by claiming you hate Obama but enthusiastically support Nunn, Hagan, Joni Ernst in Iowa, or Greg Orman of Kansas, who claims he is an "independent" but is actually being pushed by Harry Reid and the Democratic Party. Your actions speak louder than words, and your votes for these persons only prove you are one of the Obama vermin who are actually destroying this country as we know it.

Why would I want to live in such a society? What am I fighting for? The populace acts as though it does not care. Another group cares but wants the hope and change horse ca ca of Obama. Those who truly want to restore the Republic are few and far between.

Huh? You protest that last statement? Then PROVE IT. Get out there and refuse to vote for any Democrat in any race. And get your family, friends, and neighbors to do the same thing. By all means VOTE! But don't cast your vote for a single Democrat if you want to help your country survive.

I get very tired of having to do this. But as long as I am breathing I can't help it. To me, to live is Christ first and foremost, and then to seek to restore the Founders' vision for a free society based on maximum individual liberty. The thing is, I get worn out fighting for these things. And this is one of the reasons I feel that my time may be short on this earth.

If this is true, am I scared? Not one bit. I used to be afraid of death. Not anymore. One day I noticed it went away, and I had the clearest message from Christ saying that death is no big deal, only a door that leads straight to His arms. So, I am not afraid at all. When my time comes, I will be excited to look up and see the face of Jesus.

In the meantime, I will fight even if it is limited to this computer. And if one day you awaken and find the news that I am no more, well, I will be safe in the arms of Christ in a place far, far away from wicked human beings who make life miserable for the rest of us.

Inept bungling of Ebola by Feds part of a pattern

One thing that can be said about the Obama Administration's handling of the Ebola outbreak in the United States is that from the very beginning it has been a comedy of errors. But the comedy inherent to the Administration's handling of the crisis has been anything but funny. It's reactionary stance to a deadly disease has been a tragic, deadly, and lackadaisical response that has caused millions of Americans to have even more distrust of their government than ever before.

Flap between Houston mayor and pastors confirm suspicions

The city of Houston, Texas elected an openly gay mayor in 2010, Annise Parker. The mayor, a Democrat and a lesbian who is apparently afflicted with a very thin skin, decided this month to go after Houston pastors who sometimes preach against homosexuality. She then apparently initiated a program of intimidation and bullying by using the power of the court and the local city attorney, David Feldman, to threaten the pastors.
Thus, subpoenas were issued by the city attorney to at least five Houston pastors, demanding that they turn over to the mayor's office their sermons so that city officials could scrutinize the sermons for any negative mention of homosexuality.

Democrats to lose Senate? Not so fast...

Sometime, somewhere years ago the following quote, tucked away in a book long forgotten, was discovered that packed more unvarnished truth into one simple sentence than that which is contained in most lengthy treatises. "During times of great evil and political corruption," it said, "Never underestimate the willingness or the ability of unscrupulous politicians to gain the upper hand and retain power, with the full consent of most unsuspecting citizens."

Putrid vermin

Just a heads up, folks. Unless conservatives double and triple their efforts, the putrid vermin of the Democratic (Marxist-Fascist) Party will retain control of the Senate. Believe it or not, your fellow citizens who are brain dead are ready to vote the vermin right back in.

Some of the following have sufficiently fooled their constituencies into supporting them, although they are as dangerous and moronic as Barack Obama himself. Others don't have much of a chance at winning, but they deserve the dunce cap honorable mention just for the heck of it. And that goes double for the citizens who vote for them.

Wendy Davis, Democratic candidate for Governor of Texas. This "lady" is one of the most despicable human beings I have ever encountered in all my years following politics. She just sank to a new low in a TV ad that attacks her Republican opponent, who is in a wheelchair and partially paralyzed due to the fact that a large tree limb fell on him while he was out jogging years ago. This worthless piece of human excrement (Davis) had better be watching the sky and the trees constantly. One day she may find that Divine retribution for her words will mean she herself will be paralyzed. Karma can sometimes be quite a bitch, even much worse of a bitch than Davis herself. YES, I SAID IT AND I MEANT IT!!

Kay Hagan, the Democrat running for reelection to the U.S. Senate from North Carolina, could aptly be described as "liar extraordinaire." She claims she is the most "moderate member of the Senate." But the record shows she voted with the Obama agenda to destroy America 96 percent of the time. Does North Carolina really want to send back to Washington a Senator who is such a slave to her lord and master Barry Soetoro, alias Barack Obama?

Mark Pryor, the Democrat running for reelection to the U.S. Senate from Arkansas -- another wolf in sheep's clothes who can put on a Oscar performance that rivals anything Peter O'Toole did as an actor. "But he's so nice, and such a fine upstanding Christian," some poor misled little old ladies in Arkansas have been heard to say. Oh really now? With Pryor, we have yet another Obama slave. He votes with the occupant of the Oval Office the vast majority of the time while fooling his constituents into believing he is a "conservative Democrat," which is an oxymoron. Pryor, like Hagan, will probably go right back in this November. Thank your brain dead fellow citizens if that happens. There is no excuse anymore for people being that uninformed.

Gov. Dannel Malloy, D-Conn., one of the tyrannical opportunists who took a tragedy in order to push a political agenda that would rob citizens of their gun rights, faces Tom Foley, the Republican who refuted Malloy's charges that he would repeal the oppressive new gun laws. Foley responded by saying he never promised to repeal but that the law that was passed does not make Connecticut safer. OK, so here we may have two birds of a feather. This IS Connecticut, after all, and we will not get a governor out of there -- or Senators either -- who support the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. But I sure would like for Malloy to get whacked, BAD, at the polls. That worthless piece of stench.

Mass voter fraud is said to be afoot in Colorado as U.S. Sen. Mark Udall faces challenger, Republican Cory Gardner. Dozens of elections officials say that the new voter laws in the state create a ripe scenario for widespread election fraud -- all of which will help Democrats. This is one state where partisanship is a must. Colorado needs to oust its Governor and most of the Democrats in the legislature. They shoved outrageous gun control laws down the throats of citizens in spite of massive citizen protests and polls that showed the public did not want these laws.

Did I mention that Democrat Mary Landrieu of Louisiana needs to be sent packing too? Well, she does whether I said it or not. She has been a blight on the state and needs to be put out to pasture for good.

There are others that need highlighting, but I swear, I get sick and tired of dealing with it sometimes. To hell with 'em all. And to hell with the voters who put them in office!

Speaking of being bitten by the 'black dog',,,

Mike Vanderboegh has written several times on his blog of late that he is being hounded by "the black dog." The term is an old expression that is used to denote depression or being in an emotional funk. I know the feeling. I have struggled with it greatly of late but never said anything about it.

Most of the time people struggle with the black dog for good reason. Mike, for example, has struggled with severe health issues over the last two years, including cancer, life threatening surgery, and treatments. That is enough to put anyone in an emotional funk.

In my case, I have tried as best I could to describe to you my travails concerning my eyes. Although we finally got rid of this last bout with inflammation, the struggle with the underlying disease process is ongoing and has not subsided one bit. This means that from time to time I will be hit with eye inflammation, since the inflammatory condition that besets me is ongoing. The struggle with my eyes has been going on, on and off, for six years. Imagine yourself having to undergo extensive eye exams and procedures for six years, sometimes two or three times per year. And then imagine being told by your eye specialist that it was a good thing you got intense treatment when you did, because if you had ignored it you would probably be blind by now.

That in itself is enough to plunge a person into some significant depression.

And then I look ahead to the future, and what do I see? If the eyes finally become immune to the inflammatory process after years of treatments and surgery, that in no way addresses the rest of it. This stuff could set up shop in any organ it chooses -- lungs, heart, pancreas, liver, kidneys, bladder, reproductive organs, and the like. Is this what I have to look forward to next?

I am also discouraged that the eye specialist told me last week that he thinks we ought to wait for the surgery until late next year, IF the inflammation stays out of my eyes. Well, I was ready to go ahead and get the surgery behind me. But now we are on a holding pattern yet again.

And then I look at what once was a great nation, and I see nothing on the horizon but pain, woe, oppression, and slavery to the centralized government leviathan. My fellow citizens as a whole seem to want to head in this direction in spite of their anger and protests. Why would I say that? Because they keep sending back to Congress the likes of Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, Gerold Nadler, Corine Brown, Sheila Jackson Lee, Bernie Sanders, Patrick Leahy, Mary Landrieu, Mark Pryor, and a ton of other collectivist Marxists who believe in government sanctioned theft. They want to reach into my pockets and take my money against my will in order to give to people that I don't want to have it. I don't want to pay for your healthcare. I don't want to make my hard earned money so government can take it and give it to you, enabling you to get an abortion at Planned Parenthood. If you want an abortion, YOU pay for it. And if Planned Parenthood wants to do abortions, let them use their own money instead of taking mine in the form of subsidies. I don't want my taxes subsidizing Planned Parenthood.

But this is not even the half of it. Criminals now run the prison that is known as the federal government. I don't want a single nickel of my money going to them. I don't want to subsidize the IRS that turns around and retaliates against me because I am a conservative. I don't want a dime of my money going to the ATF that sent our guns to cartel drug criminals in Mexico but opposes the right of American citizens to keep and bear arms. I don't want a government that is so sensitive to criticism going after my free speech rights because I call them vermin, roaches, thugs, liars, and pieces of human garbage. They ARE all of these things. So live with it. And live with my forcing you to hear the truth about yourselves. After all, I pay your salaries, and you work for ME.

Sure, we can keep on trying to change things through the ballot box. But do you honestly think that is going to change anything? Your fellow citizens in Frisco are going to keep sending Vermin Pelosi back to Congress, year after year. California is going to continue to make a bee line toward Communism. So is New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Illinois, and Colorado. And most of the citizens in those areas leap with glee over it.

So no, I do not have much to celebrate. I am grumpy, grouchy, and difficult. I don't have much hope for the country outside an all out civil war to TAKE back what the "progressives" stole from us. And even then I am not sure it would work. So yes, I am held in the grip of the black dog. And from this vantage point at present, I have good reason to be.

Levin: 'The Constitutional Republic is gone'

Excerpt:
But as time has passed since the early 1900s, the violations of the spirit and letter of the Constitution have only intensified. Gun rights have been targeted with a vengeance. So have private property rights. The freedom of religious expression has been restricted. The press is now nothing more than the mouthpiece of the Administration, failing to do the most elementary tasks of the media in a free society. Freedom of speech has been rolled back with the "politically correct" movement that has muzzled the free and plain exchange of ideas. And freedom of assembly is now a joke as police departments enforce illegal "free speech zones"...
