Reid's shady secret land deal behind Nev. dispute?

A familiar name in Washington politics that is emerging as a potential central figure in the Nevada cattle dispute is none other than U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., Senate Majority Leader. Reid figures into the scandal in at least two ways.

So the beat goes on

Afternoon, patriots.

Today I will do a "make-up" post of the Gun Rights and Liberty News Roundup since I was not able to do so earlier in the week. This will give you two good Roundups to enjoy and explore.

You will note that as I have expanded the coverage of gun blogs over the past few months, I take a least one day per week to highlight some lesser-known blogs that get little recognition but that are actually very good.

I still highlight my regular favorites though, since these tend to be the movers and the shakers. I hope you like the balance.

I rummage through 60 - 80 gun blogs per week in order to find suitable posts for the Roundup. That is no easy task but one which I am happy to do. Although I have cut back to twice per week for the Roundup, you still get around 40 blogs from which to choose.

In addition to The Liberty Sphere, I still do the column at The Examiner, of course. I am into my seventh year doing that. As always my pay is based upon the number of people who click on the link and read the articles.

This time of year is further complicated by the fact that I am always preparing to conduct special Easter music for my church. Twice per year things get very busy -- the weeks prior to Christmas and the weeks prior to Easter. Those are the two special days during which we present new Christmas and Easter musicals.

Although these things are time-consuming and fraught with snags and snafus, I thoroughly enjoy doing them. I have often said that secretly in my mind I have held to a lifelong desire to be an orchestra conductor -- something that I never got to do but that I to this day still relish. So, although I am but a lowly church choral conductor, this ministry gives me the opportunity to live vicariously through my favorite maestros, such as Eugene Ormandy.

So, today I thought I would give you a brief update on my activities of late. Stay tuned for the Roundup and the Examiner column that I will post this afternoon.

The Gun Rights and Liberty News Roundup for 4/10/2014

WRSA points to an excellent read on the incoherent idiocy of Jeb Bush.

From the Christian Mercenary: "Same Pig, Different Lipstick."

Breaking: Feds in Nevada cattle dispute taze citizens

Excerpt:
This video on YouTube shows federal agents tasering protesters and turning K9 police dogs loose on the citizens.

If the video is an example of the manner in which federal law enforcement is handling this volatile situation, then it is clear that there has been a marked escalation of tensions since yesterday.

Stuff

Well, I didn't get around to the Gun Rights and Liberty News Roundup today as I had planned. "Stuff" going on.

Now, you may want to know what "stuff" is in this case. Well, nothing in particular that's earth-shattering. Just stuff...you know, things that everyday life throws at you that you have to take care of. You have your stuff, and I have my stuff.

What I hate, though, is that stuff sometimes gets in the way of what I want to do, and what I had planned to do. I get right perturbed by it. No, I'm wrong right there. I get damn mad.

So, stuff happens, and we live with it and do the best we can. Maybe tomorrow? At this point, who knows. I plan to do the Roundup tomorrow. But you know what they say, "The best laid plans of mice and men..."

Holder blows stack at congressman

Excerpt:
...As an aside Gohmert further stated that Holder had been held in contempt of Congress in 2012 for failing to turn over documents related to the infamous Fast and Furious scheme in which Obama administration officials took American guns across the southern border to Mexican drug cartels in order to bolster their false claim that "most of the guns used by the drug cartels come from the United States."

Holder's response to Gohmert was to lose his cool and blast him for bringing up the subject.

Reports from the ground at Conn. gun rights rally

Excerpt:
Saturday's rally was entirely peaceful without a single incident reported to police. And law enforcement assigned to the event were friendly, even helpful, to the protesters in spite of the fact that at least half of the participants were engaging in open carry of firearms.
