Scuttlebutt

So, the FCC attempts to conduct a "study" of the news media as a ruse to cover their real intent -- find out as much about reporters, anchors, news directors, editors  as possible in order to find sources of "bias." But the organization that developed the study for the FCC is a social service organization that caters to minority and so-called "underserved" populations.

So, after an outcry from the public, the FCC scraps the plan.

End of story, right? Wrong. You can rest assured the federal government is going to get this done one way or another. This is what Barack Obama and his jackbooted minions are all about. If they can't use the FCC to influence the way news is reported, including which stories to promote and which ones to bury, then they will use other means.

Think of Eric Holder's DOJ.  Think of the EPA. Yes, you saw that right. The EPA. Think of the power Obama has made sure they have amassed. And then think about Homeland Security and its various agencies. Feds can and have found ways to go after the innocent when an agenda is at stake. And it doesn't matter which agency does it. It's an alphabet soup of bureaus that are all part of the same cabal.

You say these agencies have no authority over broadcast communication or newspapers or magazines? Well, under normal conditions, true enough. But these aren't normal conditions. These are the days when interloping despots have invaded government and will use whatever means necessary to trample on the rights of the people. And they MUST gain control of the news. That was the first step of similar despots such as Hitler, Lenin and Stalin, and Chairman Mao.

So, watch this developing story very carefully, my friends. There is much more to come. We have only seen the tiny portion of what they plan to do.

FCC scraps news media study for now

After a public outcry and charges of tyranny, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has decided to scrap plans to conduct an intrusive news media "study" -- for now at least.

The director of the agency agreed with several FCC commissioners that the study represented overreach and unnecessary intrusion into the exercise of freedom of the press.

While this represents a victory for liberty oriented groups, the agency left the door open for the study to be resurrected but in a different manner. FCC spokesmen stated that if the study is resumed it will not focus on questionaires aimed at editors, reporters, corporate personnel, general managers, or news directors.

Thus, the situation bears constant watch. Even if the FCC is not directly involved, the scuttlebutt is that the DOJ is delving into making rules for the news media.

FCC 'study' a ruse for gov't control of media

Yesterday the social networking sites, Fox News, and conservative talk radio such as Mark Levin were abuzz with warnings about the latest proposal by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to do a "study" of media news outlets.

The study is being conducted through the FCC by Social Solutions International, a non-profit research and evaluation organization dedicated to bringing about positive "social change" for "underserved" populations.

Prior to the disclosure as to who is behind the study, critics were already crying foul. The FCC wants access directly into newsrooms.

I'm here

I'm still here. So never fear. lol

Had to "get the ox out of the ditch" to put it in Biblical terms.

But don't think I am not aware of all that's going on. Each day it only gets worse for the Republic. The shinola is getting ready to hit the fan, and in spite of it, the Leviathans are doubling down. More about that soon.

Get prepared for the worst case scenario.

'Constitutional carry' bill fails in Senate Judiciary Committee

A bill that would have allowed citizens to engage in what gun rights activists are calling 'Constitutional carry' has failed to garner enough votes to move from the Senate Judiciary Committee to the Senate floor for a vote in the S.C. legislature.

State Sen. Lee Bright, R-Spartanburg, had first introduced the bill in 2013 and would have allowed residents in South Carolina to carry firearms either openly or concealed without state permits.

In an interview last evening with Judge Jeanine Pirro of Fox News, U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., stated that the House has the authority to cut off funds for Obama's pet projects unless the executive branch begins to cooperate with Congress in its investigations into potential criminal wrongdoing and negligence in the IRS, the Justice Department, the State Department, Homeland Security, and the EPA, among others.

Compelled to speak...

OK, I feel compelled to at least say something about "Presidents Day." I will make it brief.

First, the authorization was for this holiday to commemorate the birthday of George Washington. Lincoln had nothing to do with it. It was not and was never supposed to be "Presidents Day" that commemorated both Washington and Lincoln. So, I don't recognize the holiday very much. This is George Washington's Birthday, period.

Second, the 20th century has not been very kind to us with regard to occupants of the Oval Office. Only two were worthy of the office, along with a small group of others who did a fair job although their worthiness is in question.

The two who were worthy of the office are Calvin Coolidge and Ronald Reagan. Most of the others were, frankly, an embarrassment. I don't give a damn for Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson (one of the most wicked men ever to occupy the White House), FDR (another decidedly wicked man), or Lyndon Johnson (probably the most vile creature ever to slither behind the desk of the Oval Office).

Add in a few others, such as Herbert Hoover, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton, and what you have is a century of the marked decline of the American Republic, based upon the individuals the citizens chose to serve as President.

And so far, the 21st century is even worse. We start off with George W. Bush, topped off by two terms of the worst scourge in American history, Barack H. Obama.

Welcome to hell.

So NO, I am not big fan of "Presidents Day" since few have reached the Constitutional standard set by Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and James Madison .

I couldn't have dreamt of anything better...

Well, the infamous "Government Motors," formerly known as "GM," has struck again.

After taking billions of our tax dollars and placing it in the hands of the UAW (which is almost as bad as forcing me to fund the various Marxist education unions such as the NEA), the company has had great difficulty in its justifying its existence given the poor quality of its products.

Remember the Volt?

Well, now the company's woes have infested NASCAR in the very first race of the season over the weekend, in the leadup to the famous Daytona 500 this coming weekend.

NASCAR has used various vehicles from various companies as its "pace car" -- the vehicle that gets the drivers started around the track just prior to the waving of the official green flag which signals the start of the race.

Now, NASCAR has used the Toyota Camry, the Ford Fusion, and others as the pace car in the past. This time it used a Chevy...or, as I describe them, "the Obamamobile."

As the Obamamobile led the drivers around the track leading up to the green flag, it....well....burst into flames. Take a look at the link.

True story. Priceless.
