Newly elected NRA president falsely maligned

"...the Daily News told at least two falsehoods, three if one takes issue with the notion that Second Amendment "absolutism" is somehow an aberration, although the Constitution itself makes it absolute -- "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." That statement is as absolute as it gets.

"But then it is not surprising that the Daily News and other leftwing outlets consider such a statement to be outrageous, given that they have made it abundantly clear that to them the Constitution is meaningless for today's world and is thus to be thrown onto the ash heap of history, free speech, free press, gun rights, and all."

Breaking: He went there but Obama's wild claim will backfire

He went there. President Barack Hussein Obama blamed Mexico's problem with extreme violence in U.S. guns. But such a wild claim, which has no basis in the facts, will backfire much to Obama's shock and much to the delight of patriots who have long decried his lies.

The common mantra that U.S. guns are the reason Mexico is overrun with criminals who murder at will, drug cartels, and al Qaeda recruiters who behead Mexican citizens by the dozens is highly popular with the Mexican government and the current administration.

But the facts belie the rhetoric, at least in one sense.

Colorado now seeks to torpedo free speech

We had to know this was coming sooner or later. A government that believes itself to be powerful enough to restrict the right of citizens to self-defense with firearms will sooner or later seek to torpedo free speech as well.

Invariably collectivist governments around the world prove the point. From the old Communist Soviet Union to Red China, from Hitler's Germany to Castro's Cuba, such regimes are convinced it is necessary not only to insure that their citizens are disarmed but that their right to criticize the government or to utter other forbidden ideas must be severely restricted.

The name of the game is centralized control. Government fears the freedom of the people. Thus, the people must be muzzled and deprived of their guns.

Colorado is the latest case in point.

The Gun Rights and Liberty News Roundup for 5/2/2013

Kurt Hofmann writes that Hollywood has shown up too late to the party in realizing the dangers inherent in gun control.

WRSA presents a must-read on Communism. Read it carefully. Take it in. Send it to someone who is ignorant of these facts.

David Codrea reports that the ATF is already looking for ways to cut off ammunition imports in order to limit what consumers can buy.

Mike Vanderboegh says he is making preparations now for Colorado civil disobedience and is accepting donations of magazines that violate Colorado's new law.

Speaking of Colorado, CLO has news that should get your blood boiling. The tyrants who passed the anti-gun laws are now seeking to SILENCE gun owners from defending the right to keep and bear arms. Read it and ACT.

CNS reports the latest news on the continuing saga concerning the Boy Scouts of America and the pressure they are getting to change their policy to allow homosexuals. A tidbit of info--as a private organization the Boy Scouts can set any policy they want. But special interest groups threaten to withhold funding from them unless they change the current policy.

The Blaze says that the Treasury Dept. is going to pay down a tiny portion of the national debt for the first time since 2007. The devil is in the details, however, and some are skeptical.

Way Up North posts a letter written by Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, addressed to the Jewish Ledger. Read it all.

Brigid muses on a piece of history -- the Walther P1 pistol. Walther, of course, is one of the oldest gun manufacturers in the world.

Standing By warns that we are just one killing spree away from sweeping new gun control laws. The anti-gun bigots will unleash everything in their arsenal, dancing in the blood of the victims, to make sure ordinary gun owners are to blame and thus are to be punished for what criminals do.

Alphecca reports the results of a survey that indicates 1/3 of Americans believe armed revolution is coming soon.

Around O-Town notes that since the PC nonsense prevents the powers that be from defining the real terrorists, DHS has to make stuff up to maintain their funding...like making training videos that depict American gun owners as terrorists.

Days of our Trailers shows us how a "smarmy assed anti-gun advocate" who thought he had pulled a "gotcha" wound up instead getting b*itchslapped.

Karl Denninger notes two public school cases, one in Florida and the other in North Carolina, that led him to blacklist both in terms of hiring and patronage. Be sure to read this!

Ready to get outraged even more? Pamela Geller says she has been banned from speaking in public in Canada about terrorism, but the country has given the green light for terrorists to say whatever they want. This is increasingly coming to America, folks, and if your head is still in the sand about free speech, you had best lift it up now or else you will find yourself living in a completely different U.S. in a few short years. We are almost there already. And it must be stopped by any means necessary.

Too dangerous to own a gun?

Gun control advocates who believe in the complete, universal disarmament of ordinary citizens rarely state up front their ultimate goal. But in various ways the agenda slips out in speeches, statements made off guard, and a general attitude of hostility to anyone who carries a gun or believes citizens have a right to do so.

Barack Obama has made it clear on at least two separate occasions that if he had the votes in Congress he would ban all guns in America, particularly the handgun, which is the preferred choice of most citizens as a self-defense weapon.

Other collectivists have made similar statements, many of whom came out of the woodwork following the Newtown shooting.

But the problem is that as a matter of strategy most among the anti-gun activists are smart enough to know that it is highly problematic to be honest enough with the public to let them know of their ultimate goal.

The Gun Rights and Liberty News Roundup for 4/30/2013

Stand Up America reports the facts on how the Obama administration, in the name of "tolerance" supports Islam but slams Christianity and Judaism.

The Gateway Pundit says that the attorney representing one of the Benghazi whistleblowers has charged that the State Dept. is violating the law. Are we surprised? The entire fiasco broke the law from the beginning.

Days of our Trailers has a must-read on creating criminals in Connecticut.

GunRights4US provides the quote of the day from Thomas Jefferson who noted that the unraveling of the Republic had already started within 50 years of our Founding. That's why Jefferson believed in a pruning once every 20 years or so.

Nicki says that even more gun manufacturers are leaving states that restrict the gun rights of citizens, taking the jobs they provide with them. Good. I hope it sends New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Illinois, California, and Colorado into abject bankruptcy.

The Wandering Minstrel shows us what he has tucked away neatly in his gun safe.

Way Up North reports news on the commissioning ceremony for the USS Anchorage.

Traction Control notes the passing of one of the greats from the shooting world.

Karl Denninger rips the media over its latest lies on guns. He says, "When you're wrong, lie. When you're really wrong, lie big." That appears to be the modus operandi of the media.

The Blaze provides the latest on the investigation launched by the Government Accountability Office on the massive ammo purchases by DHS. Good.

The War on Guns posts essential reading that asks the question, if they are that dangerous, what are they doing out of jail?

A Girl and Her Gun says that she "came out of the closet" recently...well, in a manner of speaking. Take a look.

A Geek with Guns asks, what if the Boston Bombers had used rifles rather than explosives?

From Tam: "Tap Dancing on a Land Mine."

The winds of war quietly sweep the homeland

Those who have followed the series "Musings After Midnight" at The Liberty Sphere blog are well aware of the fact that civil war on the homeland, here in America, is near. That conclusion was not reached due to any leadership on the part of the author but the work of the author in "keeping the ears close to the ground," and then reporting what those within the leadership of the resistance movement say.

Such reporting is not an attempt to "out" anyone or to leak sensitive information but to serve as a warning to those who occupy powerful seats in government that unless they back off the current attempt to limit, restrict, and outright ban certain rights of citizens, there will be a heavy price to pay, too heavy for prudent minds to accept.

The very fact that there is a sizable resistance movement to what our own government is doing is reason enough for the political class to sit up and take notice.

Congress exempts itself from liability for criminal acts

"After making a public spectacle of righteous indignation and humbling themselves to submit to the same laws the peons of the populace must follow, Congress secretly reinstated the exemptions they had enjoyed prior to the time when the public shamed them into submitting to the same laws they pass for ordinary citizens.

"Thus, it is now perfectly legal for senators and congressmen to personally benefit from insider information in a number of arenas, including secretive information passed along to them indicating that a stock is getting ready to either crash or skyrocket."

The Gun Rights and Liberty News Roundup for 4/29/2013

Mike Vanderboegh presents a detailed overview of how the next civil war will be fought. It is a stark cautionary tale for tyrants that shows war is something nobody really wants, not even the tyrants who seem to shove their oppression down our throats.

Speaking of war, RT News reports that missiles originating in Syrian territory have been fired at a Russian passenger plane. And Drudge has an entire list of news stories indicating the Middle East is falling apart.

Denise Simon provides an analysis of policy and judgment lapses leading to the Boston bombing.

Kurt Hofmann blows the whistle on a local Jewish newspaper that calls for a "national discussion" on gun control. Perhaps they should consult Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership for the real truth.

Standing By has excellent reading on the nature of freedom.

CLO informs us of the hard work of the National Association for Gun Rights in the recent battles in Congress over gun control. Plenty of info there along with videos showing their work.

Around O-Town posts good reading on the practice of some in the media to intentionally steer the narrative to control the discussion on terror attacks.

Tam says that a discussion has been underway on a forum concerning the super CCW permit process that would allow passengers to carry firearms on planes.

David Codrea notes that the ex-KGB Commie "Vlad" Putin agrees with those in the states who say that government should have a monopoly on deadly force. Not surprising, given Vlad's rich background as an operative for the oppressive and deadly Commie spy organization.

Alphecca has some updates on reports I mentioned a while back concerning the tactic of the anti-gun nutcases to hit gun rights at the state level. In many cases they succeeded -- New York, Colorado, California, Connecticut, etc.

Nicki reports that anti-gun nutcase Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., has stated he is kicking up into high gear his attempt to get gun control passed, even if he has to go state-by-state.

The Blaze provides reader reaction to Glenn Beck's story a week ago on the Saudi national and his potential connection to the Boston Marathon bombing.

Pamela Geller relays the latest info on the alleged Boston bomber as the story continues to move forward.

Roberta X says she is highly suspicious of The Bastard's assertion that the Boston bombers were going to target NYC next.

Michelle Malkin has a national security history lesson for Marco Rubio, another of the supposed "conservative" GOP senators who has turned out to be a major disappointment.
