War and Rumor of War

My new devotional is up at the ministry site.

Access it here: Martin Christian Ministries.

As always, thanks for reading, and God bless!

Why bloody civil war is inevitable

As a perfect example of the deep divide that bests the nation today, the current debt talks in Congress encapsulate the very reason that bloody civil war is inevitable--eventually. Liberty does not and cannot compromise with tyranny. The practice of the current Administration and Democrats in Congress to spend the nation into oblivion is nothing less than economic tyranny. The reason? The debt that results from such spending will enslave all future generations of Americans as far as the eye can see into posterity. And those who love freedom will never stand for it.
The problem, however, goes much deeper than the debt crisis. Americans are also deeply divided on the nature of government. Is government limited and restricted by a valid Constitution that guards individual liberty against government, or should the nation adhere to the 'progressive' vision that government, not individuals, has certain unalienable rights, among those being the right to render the Constitution meaningless if it stands in the way of forced 'progress,' which is nothing more than a euphemism for centralized control over every aspect of human life, right down to what citizens can eat, drink, drive, and read?
Americans as a whole are at best fickle about this issue and at worst deeply and bitterly divided...

Latest news updates on debt ceiling talks

In a move designed to get conservative Republicans on board with his debt ceiling proposal, House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, has designed a bill that would tie raising the debt ceiling to the approval of a Balanced Budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Boehner plans to move forward with a vote on the plan as Democrats in the Senate are set to approve an alternative proposal by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada.
Freshman Republicans in the House balked at Boehner's recent compromise proposal that would raise the debt ceiling in exchange for modest reductions in spending over the next 10 years. In order to get the votes needed to pass the bill, Boehner agreed to the Balanced Budget Amendment proposal that conservatives say is essential to reining in federal spending that is raging out of control.
Republican efforts to successfully address the 14.2 trillion-dollar-debt and the runaway federal spending that produced it have been hampered by the White House and Senate Democrats, who have insisted that cuts in spending be minimal and that taxes must be raised on all making over $250,000 per year--which would include small business owners.

Before going off half-cocked about how Paul Ryan and Allen West 'caved' on the debt deal....

Many conservatives today are blasting Allen West and Paul Ryan for supposedly 'caving' on the debt deal by announcing they support Speaker John Boehner's plan.

Admittedly, the Boehner plan does nothing of any real significance to address the debt, although it does propose modest spending cuts in exchange for raising the debt ceiling. It is a horrible plan.

But, and never forget this, folks, DEMOCRATS control the Senate, and they are demagoguing to death this issue, pummeling Republicans for being 'economic terrorists,' 'dictators', and 'taking away Social Security checks for senior adults.'

And believe it or not, the brainwashed masses of the intellectually-challenged are falling for it...especially down in Florida where Allen West represents a district made up of large numbers of seniors who have been scared to death by Obama and the Dems.

The scuttlebutt is that West has seen some polling data in his district that shows very disturbing trends that could threaten any reelection bid. In short, the feeble-minded are now so numerous in this country that when Patriots actually do get elected to Congress they are in danger of being thrown out unless they cave to the demands of those whose tiny minds cannot comprehend the nature of the danger this country faces.

So, rather than blaming West and Ryan, and other conservative Republicans, blame the American people. I say, give 'em what they want and let the chips fall where they may, which of course means that shortly we will spend ourselves into oblivion, lose our status in the world, face REAL default on the debt, and find ourselves in the very same bankrupt boat as Greece, Ireland, Spain, and other European socialist countries that are flat out of money and are forced to cut entitlements to the bone. So much for the social safety net in that scenario.

People get the government they deserve. And if America goes under, blame the leeches among the populace who prevent prudent Patriots from doing what is necessary to get our economic house in order.

So, let the house of cards fall. Let it crumble. And gear up for the fight of the century in this country as Patriots attempt to restore what the Founders gave us.

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

David Codrea reports a significant development in the Gunwalker scandal today. The House Appropriations Committee has called for an independent investigation. This is major. Read to see why.

Every Blade of Grass reports some rather odd stuff regarding a submarine off the west coast--accompanied by some small patrol boats...

Randy's Right says that the fact that Standard and Poor's change in its position on our credit rating is ample evidence of deep corruption. I fully agree!

Resist Tyranny presents a special report documenting that while ordinary Americans are suffering in this Obama Depression, politicians are getting rich--at the expense of 'we the people.'

Deliberate smear--Media Matters story on ATF gun smuggling

As reported yesterday, the ultra-Leftwing, George Soros-funded 'Media Matters' confronted the reporter who first broke the ATF gun smuggling scandal as he sat outside the committee hearings on the subject in the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday. Shoving a cell phone camera in his face, the Media Matters propagandist demanded to know why Mike Vanderboegh had 'lied' about the Tampa field office of the ATF smuggling guns into Honduras.
Media Matters posted their story yesterday, in which they accused Fox News of reporting Vanderboegh's assertions without doing an adequate fact-check.
It goes without saying that Media Matters, the pompous pimps of progressive propaganda, has but one goal in making such assertions--to create doubt on the part of readers concerning the veracity of the facts disclosed thus far concerning Project Gunwalker, or 'Operation Fast and Furious,' the ATF-DOJ-Obama Administration scheme to deliberately place U.S. guns into the hands of dangerous criminals in Mexico and Honduras for the purpose of bolstering statistics that would then erroneously show that the vast majority of weapons used by drug cartels came from the U.S.

Pay no attention to the ads for Obama on this blog, courtesy of Google

As part of the Google Ads program, I was advised to allow all sorts of advertisements on the blog, excluding none. I am almost ready to change that.

I have noted of late that Google is placing Obama ads here, and I don't like it one little bit.

As regular readers know, this blog is dedicated to the defeat of people like Obama, and anyone else who is part of the modern assault on the Constitution, personal freedom, the Bill of Rights, and everything else Patriots hold sacred.

Please be aware that the Obama ads are NOT my doing.

Just ignore them. I may try to change my account with Google in such a way as to block such ads as we head into the campaign of 2012.

But...don't ignore the many other types of ads you find here. Most of them are great! :)

ATF scandal reporter banned from hearing, gets ambushed by Media Matters

During a lengthy hearing yesterday in the U.S. House of Representatives on the gun smuggling scandal that has engulfed the ATF and the DOJ, one of the two reporters who first broke the story was banned from the committee hearings and was subsequently ambushed by Media Matters, the leftwing, George Soros-funded propaganda machine for progressives.
Mike Vanderboegh, whose numerous contacts within various levels of the federal government led to the first news story that was published concerning the 'Project Gunwalker' scandal in December of 2010, had traveled to Washington last week to attend Congressman Darrell Issa's committee hearings on Project Gunwalker and to discuss further developments on the investigation with informants, whistleblowers, members of the media, and Congressmen and Senators.
Prior to the hearings Vanderboegh had received explosive new information indicating that the ATF had informed the National Security Council about the illegal scheme and had communicated directly with the White House via emails...

Breaking updates on House investigation of DOJ-ATF gun smuggling

In the latest breaking updates on the U.S. House of Representatives investigation into the DOJ-ATF Gun Smuggling Scandal, also known as 'Project Gunwalker' or 'Operation Fast and Furious,' committee chair Darrell Issa, R-California, has charged the Obama Administration with intimidating witnesses. Of the six scheduled witnesses who testified before the Issa committee today, at least two of them received letters from the ATF warning them to limit their testimony.
Issa further asserted that the scandal goes all the way to the top of the Department of Justice at the very least, and that Attorney-General Eric Holder knew about the illegal scheme or else he is so incompetent as to be ignorant about what goes on in his own department.
In another development, one of the two who originally broke the story of the scandal, Mike Vanderboegh, reports from Washington that the FBI is in a state of panic following the disclosure yesterday that the Bureau allowed the sale of 360 firearms to convicted felons, who then took the guns to Mexico where they wound up in the hands of drug cartels.

Yes, progressives really do want to control you

An acquaintance who is familiar with my strong support for unfettered gun rights approached me recently and stated, "So, you believe that gun violence is justified."
"Only when such violence serves a redeeming moral purpose," I replied rather curtly.
"Killing people is never justified,' she said, 'Nor does it ever serve a redeeming moral purpose."
"Try telling that to the Marxists/Socialists/Communists and other totalitarians who murdered in cold blood nearly 100 million people around the world in the past 100 years," I responded, "And try telling that to hundreds of citizens each year who use guns to save the lives of their families, as well as themselves, from lawless thugs."
Progressives never got the word that 'lawless thugs' or 'criminals' do not respond very well to common, sensible laws. This is why they are called 'lawless.' But then, most people with a 6th grade education know this--except for progressives.
The reason citizens must have the freedom to keep and bear arms is that a large and dangerous sector of society does not obey any law that says you must not commit murder, or that you must respect another person's property, or that you must conduct yourself in a manner in which others are not harmed. Progressives sitting in their sanitized, insulated ivory towers claim to be ignorant of such people. But informed, free citizens know the danger and must have the means to defend themselves not only against threats to their lives and property but against oppressive governments as well. This is at the heart of the American experience dating all the way back to the Declaration of Independence. And yes, deadly force was used to defend freedom when it was attacked by totalitarians.
Yet progressives insist, as they always have, upon forced compliance among the populace to whatever edicts they hand down from their lofty self-appointed thrones as the guardians of 'the good of society.'
