Of Holder, Hillary, Nappy, and Mueller--who will pay for corruption?

In anticipation of the monumental hearings that will take place in Congress next Tuesday on the DOJ-ATF Gun Smuggling Scandal known as 'Project Gunwalker,' one of the two who first broke the story, Mike Vanderboegh, traveled this week to Washington to talk to informants, sources, Congressmen and Senators, and to attend the hearings.
Vanderboegh posted this curious statement on his blog today, the Sipsy Street Irregulars:
Tonight, for the first time since the Gunwalker Scandal broke in December of last year, I slept with a borrowed semi-auto pistol under the pillow next to me.
I am not scared for my safety. My fate has always been in His hands.
I am scared that now -- even knowing what we know -- we still might fail.
And we cannot fail, for these people are evil beyond measure. They are, in a very real sense, scorpions who care not who they sting and who they kill.
The statement was made in the context of a meeting on Friday during which Vanderboegh learned an important piece of information that could be a major milestone in the scandal if it proves to be true.

Breaking--gun store owner in NM pleads guilty in weapons to Mexico scheme

A gun store owner in Chaparral, New Mexico who is at the center of a scandal involving 15 citizens at the border town of Columbus, NM has pleaded guilty to conspiracy and making false statements to authorities concerning weapons purchased at his shop, according to Las Cruces Sun-News. The conspiracy charge arises out of a scheme perpetrated by Columbus city officials, including the mayor and police chief, who bought weapons at the gun store in order to smuggle them across the border into Mexico.
Ian Garland, who owns Chaparral Guns in Chaparral, NM, had originally stated that he had no knowledge of the gun smuggling scheme. Early reports indicated that Garland had followed the law in selling the guns to Columbus officials and had even followed the ATF's specific instructions to do so.
Originally Garland had been charged with weapons trafficking in addition to the two charges to which he has pleaded guilty. Apparently that charge was dropped.
Interestingly, Garland had been offered a plea bargain agreement in which in exchange for confessing to having full knowledge of where the firearms were going and thus, making false statements to law enforcement, he could at least get out of jail....

Grenade launchers, missiles--Mexican cartel in U.S. has more than 'smoking guns'

As part of the ongoing investigation into the DOJ-ATF Gun Smuggling Scandal that is the subject of official Senate and House inquiries, a component of the scheme has been discovered that took the matter in a different direction. Namely, the most dangerous of the Mexican drug cartels, the Zetas, are now operating within the United States, allegedly smuggling weapons into Mexico, and using land they purchased near Columbus, New Mexico as a safehouse to store weapons, supposedly prior to transport or for a more sinister motive.
The weapons stashes discovered by law enforcement, Border Patrol, and other agencies contain ample evidence of dozens of 'smoking guns'--literally and symbolically--that prove the cartel is in the weapons smuggling business. However, the cartel has more than just smoking guns. The El Paso Times reported that officials have discovered an array of military grade weapons, grenade and grenade launchers, high-powered rifles, body armor, anti-aircraft missiles, and night vision goggles. The nature of the weapons that have been discovered would seem to confirm suspicions that the cartel obtains these weapons from the U.S. Government.

Gang of Six plan in Senate will go nowhere

I have a growing sense that the compromise plan rolled out by the 'Gang of Six' in the U.S. Senate with regard to debt reduction will no absolutely nowhere. Not only have House Republicans made it clear they will in no way approve the plan due to its tax increases, but a key GOP Senator stated that he has deep concerns about the plan for the very same reason.

Senator Charles Grassley stated in a radio interview this week that he has serious misgivings about the Gang of Six plan, and that the country does not face a taxation or revenue problem but a SPENDING problem! Precisely!

Because Democrats still control the Senate, they can approve the compromise plan that will raise taxes on just about everyone who pays taxes, regardless of the common lie used by Dems that it is only 'for the super-rich.'

But the House is another matter. The Tea Party sent most freshmen Republicans to Washington to do some serious cutting of government spending. And so far, they are holding firm. And they are committed not to raise taxes on anyone.

Another major factor to consider--by simply repealing or de-funding ObamaCare, Congress could cut 1.5 trillion dollars from the debt immediately. And this information comes from the Congressional Budget Office itself.

Perhaps it would be a good thing if the federal government shut down for a while--except for essential services such as the military and Social Security, etc. Government employees, and Congress itself, could be told that they will not be paid a dime during the shutdown. True, that in and of itself would thrust into action the lazy minions of the Left who wish to do nothing about spending. But during such a shutdown, think of the multi-billions it would save the taxpayers--money that would decrease the debt.

And, what if they stayed out long enough to wipe out the 12.4 trillion in debt entirely? Problem solved!

Americans need a break from the weasels who occupy Congress anyway, especially the Senate. If they are not in session, no damage can be done. And the debt would disappear rather quickly, relatively speaking.

Oh well, back to reality. The Gang of Six will not make adequate cuts to do any good. And raising taxes will sink an already shaky economy further into the abyss. Their 'plan' is dead on arrival.

Little did she know she was talking to an economist who graduated from Duke University, with honors, with a degree in economics. How the HELL does this sorry rat trap propaganda tool (MSNBC) stay on the air?

Video--Homeland Security considers white, middle class citizens to be terrorists

Apart from the involvement of ICE, Immigration and Customs Enforcement which operates under DHS, the Department of Homeland Security and its head, Janet Napolitano, have been conspicuously missing from the scandal involving illegal activity by multiple agencies of the U.S. Government in placing firearms into the hands of criminals in Mexico and Honduras. Evidence now suggests that the involvement of DHS is primarily on a different front, although connected to the goal of the Obama Administration to arm drug cartels and weaken the ability of U.S. citizens to effectively defend themselves by enacting new gun control measures. DHS apparently considers white, middle class citizens to be terrorists, as depicted in the video embedded in the left column.
The video is part of Homeland Security’s $10 million dollar “See Something, Say Something” program that encourages Americans to report “suspicious activity,” which in every case throughout history has been a trait of oppressive, dictatorial regimes.
In the course of the 10 minute clip, a myriad of different behaviors are characterized as terrorism, including opposing surveillance, using a video camera, talking to police officers, wearing hoodies, driving vans, writing on a piece of paper, and using a cell phone recording application.

How did 'the Zetas' drug cartel obtain weapons for criminal activity?

Since Barack Obama took office in 2009, the commonly-accepted mantra of the Administration, and many within the major news organizations, is that the violence associated with Mexican drug cartels is fueled by guns that came from the United States due to its 'lax gun control laws.' Indeed, the dangerous 'Zetas' drug cartel obtained weapons in the United States for their criminal activity both in Mexico and throughout the American Southwest.
However, the manner in which the Zetas obtained those weapons directly contradicts the official Administration stance on the consequences of lax gun control laws.
The Zetas obtained their weapons through a little-publiczed program implemented by the U.S. State Department called 'U.S. Direct Commercial Sales.' The program was intended to regulate the sale of U.S. firearms to other countries, and a direct commercial sale of a firearm requires an export license. However, as it has been demonstrated repeatedly with the Project Gunwalker Scandal at the ATF, honorable intentions often go terribly awry, particularly when widespread corruption infects a multiplicity of government agencies.
Further, the head of the Zetas cartel insists that ALL of their weapons were sold to them by the United States government. The evidence strongly suggests that this is true.

NO! Absolutely not! Under NO Conditions!

The U.S. Senate is huddling this afternoon reportedly to strike a debt deal that would raise taxes.

If Republicans go along with this, they should become targets for derision and defeat in the next election. Here we MUST hold firm. We must say NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT! Under NO conditions should taxes be raised on ANYONE, period, during this time of dire economic straits.

The compromise plan is being floated by the so-called 'Gang of Six' in the Senate, which includes 3 Republicans.

However, one of those Republicans is Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, who has already floated out his own proposal that would cut 9 trillion dollars from the debt. It is highly unlikely Coburn would go along with a tax hike. But McConnell?  Sheesh.

Warning the the GOP--hold firm on the no taxes pledge, or else you will be the recipients of voter ire every bit as much as your Democrat colleagues!

More connections in ATF scandal: drug cartel stashes weapons at Columbus, NM

Watchdogs who have been warning the U.S. government for years about the dangerously porous southern border now have solid proof that their warnings were not mere speculation. The most dangerous of the Mexican drug cartels, the Zetas, have set up shop in Columbus, New Mexico, and purchased land which they use as safehouses to store firearms and other illicit material. The location of the cartel safehouse is key, given that Columbus has been identified in connection with the ATF gun smuggling scandal, known as Project Gunwalker.
Yesterday's report noted that Columbus has been a haven for Mexican criminals due to deep-seated corruption and apathy among law enforcement and city government. The mayor and police chief, along with 9 other residents, have been charged with various felony weapons trafficking activity. Columbus has seen a complete turnover of its small police department seven times in three years. And ATF agents apparently used the corruption of Columbus for its own purposes in making straw purchases of firearms and walking them across the border to place them into the hands of the cartels.
A gun store owner in nearby Chaparral, NM, sits in jail for selling firearms to the mayor and police chief of Columbus, who told him they were buying the guns to give their families extra protection against dangerous criminals along the southern border.

Tom Tancredo Picks Up Gunwalker Story on His Radio Show

Former U.S. Congressman Tom Tancredo, R-Colorado, who ran for the Republican nomination for President in 2008, has picked up on the Gunwalker story. I notice he has several articles posted on the website for his radio show.

He even posted my story from Saturday, July 16, on the New Mexico connection and the jailing of a gun store owner who by all accounts is totally innocent of gun smuggling charges.

Here is the show's website: Tancredo Radio Show.

Breaking update on New Mexico connection in gun smuggling scandal

On Saturday it was reported that the owner of a gun store near Columbus, New Mexico had been arrested and charged with multiple felony counts of firearms trafficking in connection with the ATF gun smuggling scandal that has now been exposed in four states. Ian Garland of 'Chapparel Guns' in Chapparel, NM--near Columbus--sits in jail for doing nothing more than cooperating with local law enforcement acting under the knowledge and consent of the ATF.
The mayor and police chief of Columbus, along with 9 other local citizens, were similarly charged.
But the breaking update today is that the now-ex-mayor of Columbus, Eddie Espinoza, has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy, three counts of making false statements in the acquisition of firearms, and three counts of smuggling firearms into Mexico from the United States.
Note carefully the second part of the indictments--'making false statements in the acquisition of firearms'...

Sources--FBI more deeply involved than ATF in gun smuggling scandal

Congressional sources who are investigating the scandal at the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives say that they now have evidence showing that the FBI may be more deeply involved than the ATF in the gun smuggling scandal. The scandal, known as 'Operation Fast and Furious,' or 'Project Gunwalker,' centers on illegal activity perpetrated by federal government agents in smuggling guns to Mexico and Honduras in order to pad statistics that would supposedly 'prove' that U.S. guns are arming the drug cartels.
Many believe that the only reason the government would undertake such a sordid scheme would be to justify the call for massive new gun control in the United States. Such a charge appears to be 100% correct as the Obama Administration and Democrats in Congress prepare to unfold a comprehensive new plan for gun bans and tightening the rules for firearms registration and background checks, along with strict reporting requirements for gun stores.
However, as the story has developed it has become clear that the scandal implicates multiple agencies within the federal government in addition to the ATF and its oversight agency, the DOJ. The Los Angeles Times published a story this morning that quotes Congressional sources as saying that at least 6 drug cartel members may have served as FBI paid informants in the Mexican gun smuggling scheme...
