New Mexico connection--innocent citizen jailed for cooperating with ATF

So far in the continually unfolding story of historic corruption and scandal at the Department of Justice and its bureau, the ATF, the focus has been primarily upon Phoenix and Tampa. Another possible connection surfaced last week involving the Houston, Texas field office of the ATF.
However, in the growing media frenzy that has resulted from irrefutable, bombshell evidence implicating the DOJ and the ATF in an illegal scheme to place American guns into the hands of Mexican and Honduran criminals, yet another connection has been largely overlooked involving the state of New Mexico and ATF field agents in the small border town of Columbus, NM.
The importance of the New Mexico connection lies in the fact that an innocent citizen sits in jail on bogus charges, charges that fail to recognize that his 'crimes' involved nothing more than doing what he was told by law enforcement acting on behalf of ATF agents as they made straw purchases of firearms from his gun shop in Columbus.

House GOP seizes upper hand in debt reduction debate

According to common perception among the mainstream media and even a plurality of citizens, Barack Obama and the Democrats have managed to control the terms of the debate on debt reduction during the past week. A Quinnipiac poll, for example, indicates that more voters would blame the Republicans than Democrats if the government defaults on its debt, and that they trust Obama more than the GOP to handle the economy.

That poll is questionable given that other polling firms show that by an overwhelming majority Americans oppose raising the debt ceiling--the position taken by most Republicans--not Obama and the Democrats. And the most recent Gallup poll shows that Obama would lose to a generic, unnamed Republican--any Republican--by 8 points in 2012.
Let's suppose, however, that the Quinnipiac poll is correct and that Obama and the Democrats have had the upper hand in the debate over the past week. The momentum seems to be suddenly shifting in the other direction.

Earnestly Contend for the Faith

Today's devotional is up at the ministry site. Go read it. Ponder over it. Meditate upon it. Pray about it. THINK. and then ACT.

Read it here: Martin Christian Ministries.

These words from the book of Jude in the New Testament are about as plain and direct as anything you will find in the Bible. It flat lays it on the line. And we MUST consider it.

Barry loses it, storms out of debt meeting--did he run to Michelle for milk and cookies? I bet he's back on 3 packs of Camels a day!

The scuttlebutt is that Barry S., aka Obama, stormed out of the debt negotiation meeting yesterday after telling Eric Cantor, 'Don't call my bluff.' ROFL! Did the imbecile just out himself and admit his threat to withhold Social Security checks is a bluff????  ROFL!!  Well, he sure did.

Now, it is most abundantly clear that the Prez is a petulant child, and Michelle is his Mama. He probably had to go running to Mama so that she could give him milk and cookies and then put him to bed.

That is, after he went out somewhere and smoked a whole pack of Camels.

Whatcha wanna bet Barry S. is back up to 3 packs a day.

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet!

David Codrea suggests that the Gunwalker scandal investigations may be about to 'bust wide open.' Take a look!

Kurt Hofmann reports there is compelling new evidence showing that the Gunwalker project is designed to lead straight to forcible citizen disarmament.

Mike Vanderboegh says that the Tampa leg of the scandal is drawing the attention and scrutiny of Congress.

WRSA announces an armed but peaceful rally called 'Restore the Constitution,' which will take place in Atlanta on August 19.

Standing By declares that Congress has been rendered irrelevant. Look at his reasoning!

Breda points to a person who demonstrates why more women need to be 'out and proud' about gun ownership.

Tam blogs today about magazines, and no, not the reading kind.

The Wandering Minstrel says, 'Guns don't kill; the ATF does!'

Gulag Bound notes that Libertarians who are ideologically-bound sound an awful lot like Leftwing nutcases. Not sure I fully agree with all of it, but it is thought-provoking.

Liberally Conservative reports that Obama has implemented new rules that increase government secrecy. So much for 'the most transparent and open Administration in history.'

Breaking...Pelosi brings on the crazy on debt reduction talks

In late-breaking news reported by Politico, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has 'brought on the crazy' concerning the ongoing, contentious debt negotiations between Obama and Republicans in Congress.
Pelosi contends that Obama has been abundantly more patient than the Biblical figure 'Job' in dealing with Republicans on the national debt. Job, of course, is the man in the Old Testament book bearing his name who suffered multiple failures, setbacks, illnesses, and loss, and yet patiently bore it all and remained faithful to God.

Examiner colleague receives death threat

"Founded by Stewart Rhodes, Oath Keepers is made up of military personnel, police officers, and other citizens who have sworn an oath to 'preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies both foreign and domestic.' This is the same oath given to Congressmen, Senators, and Presidents. And, interestingly enough, the letter containing the threat is aimed directly at Oath Keepers.
But why would Codrea be the recipient of the letter?
Oath Keepers is dedicated to keeping the oath to guard the Constitution in light of the fact that so many within government and law enforcement circles have broken it. The dedicated men and women of Oath Keepers, however, have pledged with their own lives to keep that oath even if they are ordered to break it. The concept is based upon the premise that they are sworn to uphold The Constitution, even if it means disobeying misguided and/or malevolent superiors who give orders that are tantamount to a direct assault on that Constitution. After all, the oath is to uphold the Constitution. There is no oath to obey any law or any order that violates the Constitution."

Who has any right to judge another?

Ok, time for some serious soul-searching, and the new devotional over at the ministry site will help us get started.

What do you see staring back at you when you look in the mirror? A sinner, just like everyone else. Bear that in mind before judging another.

OK, so let's cut through the crap and tell the plain truth, shall we?

1. Missing the deadline to raise the debt ceiling will NOT automatically result in default.

2. Failure to raise the debt ceiling will NOT mean Social Security recipients and military personnel will not get paid. Their checks will go out as normal.

3. The U.S. will NOT default on its debts, even if the debt ceiling is not raised, as long as the government pays the INTEREST on the debt. This will be done. It is the law. It is even in the Constitution.

4. Contrary to popular misconceptions, the amount of the debt ceiling is not important and distracts from the real issue--runaway federal spending. As long as the spending is reigned in, like Republicans in Congress wish to do, then the debt ceiling can be set at any figure you like. It does not matter. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE SPENDING!

5. Obama and the Democrats are creating a false panic over a non-issue in order to detract from their abject failure to address the real problem--government spending is out of control, the debt is skyrocketing to an unsustainable level, and it was all done ON THEIR WATCH.

6. Spread the word. Quickly.

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet!

Kurt Hofmann says that the progressives, such as Soros' Media Matters, is using the confusion over terms used to describe the ATF gun smuggling scandal to discredit the real facts.

Mike Vanderboegh reports that Congressman Darrell Issa and Senator Charles Grassley have caught Eric Holder with his pants down in the gun smuggling scandal.

From Alphecca: 'Obama Starts His Gun Control Push.'

GunRights4US castigates Obama and his 'professional politicians' who claim to know so much of what is needed 'for our own good' despite our vehement protests.

John Jacob H alerts us to an important analysis on the issue of the debt ceiling and guns. Read it!

Breda comments on Newsweek's expected negativity on Sarah Palin in their latest cover story.

Traction Control makes an important point about Obama's sending multi-millions to ACORN in spite of the Congressional ban on the practice.

Roberta X lays it on the line concerning the current budget debacle.

The Suffolk County Liberty Report has an explosive MUST-READ (urgent) concerning a plan hatched by Obama and Idaho Governor Butch Otter to open up the flood gates to Chinese immigrants who would flood Idaho and turn it into a Chinese state. It is called 'Project 60.' Yet another plank in the systematic dismantling of the American Republic.

Randy's Right reports that VP Joe Biden went neanderthal in the budget talks with Republicans.

Obama and GE's Immelt--big hypocrites on jobs, taxes, and government

Ever since Barack Obama burst onto the national political scene one of the central themes upon which he harps on a consistent basis is that in order for America to recover from this deep economic downturn, big oil companies must be forced to give up their 'tax breaks.' The Obama Plan for Recovery, thus, is almost identical to that of Herbert Hoover, who, in the late 20s and early 30s responded to the great economic downturn by raising taxes, especially on 'the rich' and U.S. businesses. The result was that the problem worsened until by 1933, under Franklin Roosevelt who continued Hoover's policies on taxation, the nation was stuck in a downward spiral from which it never recovered until after World War II.

The Cato Institute published an in-depth analysis of the Hoover-Roosevelt plan of taxation and the devastating impact it had on the economy.
Fast-forward to 2011. Enter GE's CEO Jeffrey Immelt.
Immelt has been an ardent supporter of Barack Obama from the start...

So let me get this straight--Obama's DOJ and ATF perpetrate criminal activity. But how do they address it? Come down on GUN STORES!

These are nothing more than BUMS, pure and simple.
A**holes is a better term, and even that is too good for them!
Read this breaking news from Dave Workman, Seattle Gun Rights Examiner:

DOJ Announces Gun Reporting Requirements; Issa, Grassley Respond.

Needless to say I am not surprised.

David Codrea also reports.

"Even the dollar stores are struggling in the Obama Depression"

Several weeks ago I dubbed the current economic status in America as a 'depression' and not just a 'recession.' This is based upon careful analysis of the real stats behind the fluff and spin of the Obama Administration and those with a vested interest in making the economy look much better than it actually is.

Now, it seems, a mainstream news outlet in California has picked up on the depression designation in a special report that shows that even the dollar stores are struggling.

This would involve Family Dollar Store, The Dollar General, and other such companies that cater to those looking for real bargains and that traditionally do very well when there is an economic downturn.

But in THIS downturn, even the dollar stores are struggling.

Note THIS:

More stores across the U.S. that offer deeply-discounted products are seeing their sales decline after years of growth amid America’s “Great Recession” — and one analyst said on Monday it’s another sign of even deeper downturn.
While the demand at stores like the 99-Cent Store or Dollar Tree is still relatively high, the biggest chains in the nation have fallen short of Wall Street’s expectations for several months, a trend that may prove even more ominous for the economy at large.
“I think what’s going on in those stores is that we are in a depression for 80 percent of Americans,” top retail analyst Howard Davidowitz told KNX 1070.
If even Dollar Tree is struggling, then we know we are in the midst of something much worse than a recession.

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet!

Way Up North gives us a good firing range report over the weekend from way up north in Alaska. I would love to go shooting up there.

CLO declares it is high time for Attorney-General Eric Holder to resign.

Brigid has a goodie today from 1912 on the necessity for staying in the fight.

Kurt Hofmann reports that the Second Amendment Foundation has moved for an injunction against the State of Illinois in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. This is an important development.

Around O-Town posts some thoughts on 'an armed society.'

Line in the Desert exposes a drug legalization advocacy group for some outright lies concerning Mexican drug cartels, the Mexican government, and by extension, the U.S. government.

WRSA provides the absolute MUST-read of the day.

Tam notes that a charity is giving away a signature .1911 to a lucky ticket-buyer in their latest raffle.

I am late to the party on this one, I am sorry to say, but my good buddy Mike McCarville of Oklahoma, one of the most trusted reporters in the U.S. today, has undergone open-heart surgery. My prayers are with him, and we all could do well by sending out our good thoughts to him during his recuperation.

Days of our Trailers reports that now that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has signed into law a bill allowing citizens to carry concealed, the 'pants shittin' hysterics' have begun by the anti-gunners.

Are multiple local offices of ATF involved in gun smuggling scandal?

As the months have passed since the first story of a possible gun smuggling scheme involving the ATF--the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives--hit the news in December of 2010, it has been rumored that the scandal is much more widespread than first reported. Originally it was thought that the scandal was limited to local ATF offices in Arizona, particularly the Phoenix field division. Yet the rumors persisted, and last week it was revealed that the Tampa, Florida office was involved in a massive gun smuggling scheme in Honduras.
And this begs the question, are multiple offices of the ATF involved in the gun smuggling scandal? Even more than Arizona and Tampa?
Such rumors have been simmering beneath the surface as well, and not without solid evidence.

Kagan bombshell video--why she should be impeached

When Elena Kagan was nominated by Barack Obama and approved by the U.S. Senate to be a Supreme Court justice in 2010, conservatives and Constitutional purists sounded the warning alarms concerning this new addition to the highest court in the land. Those warnings fell on deaf ears as a few RINOS--Republicans in Name Only--joined a unanimous Democrat majority in approving the nominee, including South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham.
Numerous background studies were done on Kagan that confirmed suspicions that she is a Leftwing extremist, a crony of Barack Obama from the Chicago School of Law, and has consistently issued rulings that fly in the face of every known Constitutional principle that has stood in place since the document was ratified in 1789. She hasattacked free speechfreedom of religion, and has supported broad-based government censorship. She defended ObamaCare as the Administration's chief counsel during hearings on the bill. She now sits on the very court that will decide the ultimate fate of that bill--a clear conflict of interest.
However, the explosive video embedded in the left column, only a minute and a half in length, shows the bombshell proof that not only should Kagan never have been approved for the Supreme Court, but given that now that she sits on the bench, she should be impeached.
