Seven Declarations of Liberty

These are the essentials, the bare-bones foundational precepts describing what liberty is all about.

Read them today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

We are desperately overdue a reclaiming of these basic precepts.

How's THIS for a Patriotic Alliance!

Our friend at 1 With a Bullet passes along some encouraging information on a police department in Texas that is teaching concealed carry classes to the general public.

Perhaps this law enforcement agency has heard of Oath Keepers!

With all of the corruption in various law enforcement agencies, particularly at the federal level, it is always encouraging to discover that there are lots of cops, sheriffs, police chiefs, and others out there who are on our side in our right to carry and use firearms for self-defense.

Hitting the Speaking Circuit

This weekend I launch something that has been in the planning stages for several months. I am hitting the speaking circuit, availing myself of every opportunity afforded me to talk about liberty, the founding principles of this nation, the Bill of Rights, and the state of modern politics in America.

My first event in this endeavor is a private affair, not open to the public. And it is FREE.

Yes, I am free at this point to offer my services at no charge, provided my expenses are covered.

Of course, I had much rather have a certified check. But I also know that some groups cannot afford such a thing, and, given that I am doing this to help my country at a critical hour, I will consider such things on a case-by-case basis.

I enjoy public speaking. For over 35 years I have done so, in various places and for various purposes. I have also led educational seminars, and I am available for that as well. These are not free, given that an enormous amount of time goes into the preparation and delivery of such events.

If I can help your group in any way, contact me for a complete list of topics and details. Pop me an email at thelibertysphere@aol.com, and put in the subject line 'speaker.'

More about this to come.

Ooops! Healthcare Bill Costs Top $1 TRILLION!

Despite the claim that the proposal for government-run healthcare will 'not cost the taxpayers a dime nor drive up the deficit,' the House version of the bill has a pricetag of over ONE TRILLION bucks!

Naturally, the question arises as to where the money is going to come from, given that Barack Obama has already admitted that the U.S. is 'flat out of money,' and the Administration has tripled the deficit and quadrupled the debt in just 9 months.

Time for the government to crank up the printing presses once again. Boy, I wish I had one of those in my basement...

College Football Time in Caroline!

Following a disappointing loss to Alabama last week, the Gamecocks of the University of South Carolina will play host to Vanderbilt in a Southeastern Conference game this evening at 7 PM at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.

South Carolina now has a record of 5-2 on the season, and Coach Steve Spurrier is hoping that the Gamecocks can get back on the track this week toward their goal of posting the most wins in a season in school history.

As the perennial underdogs, South Carolina has never had an exceptional season and has never won a national championship in all of its years in the NCAA.

While a national championship is out of reach this season, perhaps Spurrier and crew can put enough wins on the board to at least boost the team to a respectable level in the SEC--the toughest conference in college football.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 10/20/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Say Uncle comments on the Obama Administration's change of policy on medical marijuana. I agree. My view is the same as that of my mentor, William F. Buckley, Jr., who, as a conservative, believed that the 'war on drugs' needed to end and legalization needed to ensue. Simple possession of 'forbidden substances' is not the government's business. It would free up lots of prison space to permanently house the real criminals. And no, I am not a reckless advocate of the abuse of street drugs. I simply believe in maximum personal, individual liberty, even if that means people have the freedom to hurt themselves.

Breda has the complete scoop on tonight's edition of Gun Nuts Radio. Listen in if you haven't already. It's always a good show.

Robb Allen reports the interesting news story of the 81-year-old who shot an intruder. Of course, he was just 'compensating for what he lacked below the belt,' you know....

Tam provides a bit of fashion advice for those who engage in open carry.

Walls of the City opines on why he thinks a Constitutional Convention is a bad idea.

Texas Fred has a MUST-read today. The U.S. Army has concluded after an investigation that the Army troops in Alabama broke the law when they helped local law enforcement officials in a criminal man-hunt.

Conservative Libertarian Outpost says that the Feds have gone haywire. So what else is new?

Days of our Trailers reports that the Obama Administration is using the 'public health' issue as a backdoor means of enacting draconian gun control. This is a major alert!!

David Codrea issues two reports on the fact that the media is finally discovering Oath Keepers. This is essential reading here and here.

Kurt Hofmann asks THE central question of the hour concerning Oath Keepers and the notion that they are a 'threat': 'How is a vow to uphold the Constitution a "threat"?' It's a threat only to those within the present government who have absolutely no regard nor respect for the Constitution.

Western Rifle Shooters Association is reporting that Karl Denninger, the market watcher and economic guru, now says that the FDIC is totally bankrupt. As we have incessantly warned you, get out of the banks, invest in precious medals that you keep yourself, and deal in cash as much as possible.

OK, that's it for today, folks. More server problems. UGH! I had much more, but I am not being allowed. So sorry.

Senator Reid Attempts Doctor Buy-Off

Senator 'Dirty Harry' Reid, D-NV, has attempted to buy off doctors in a desperate attempt to save the Obama-Congressional plan for a government takeover of healthcare.

My commentary on this development is here at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

The fight is on, folks, and the dirt-bags are playing dirty.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 10/19/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

David Codrea tells us about an LA Times piece on guns that simply defies reality. Take a look.

Mike Vanderboegh has 3 absolute MUST-reads:
1. Oath Keepers Pledge to Prevent Dictatorship in the U.S.
2. Photos from the citizen protest against CNN in Atlanta.
3. 'Welcome to You Bedwetting Little Green Footballs Schmucks'

Western Rifle Shooters Association wants to know 'where the hell is the outrage!?'

Conservative Libertarian Outpost posts one heck of a response to the Leftists via video. Be sure to watch it all.

Maddened Fowl has a brief but informative post on 'being prepared.'

From John Jacob H: 'Traffic Stops and Other Police Encounters Tutorial.'

Every Blade of Grass provides a great read on what happens in a disaster should all normal means of communication be render useless. The answer is 'EMCOMMS.' Read it to find out all about the process.

Kurt Hofmann has, 'Not a Bright Dog, but Somewhat Amusing.'

Armed Citizen blows the whistle on the shenanigans of some House Democrats sneaking out to avoid voting on a certain issue.

Brigid presents 'the Swine Flu Love Sonnet.'

Way Up North reports that native Alaskans are calling for less interference from the federal government. Good!

Standing By asks, 'Is Obama Competent to be Commander in Chief?'

Tam posts a weekend report on some shooty goodness at the range.

Pax Parabellum notes that while Obama focuses attention on his war on Fox News, Leftwing rags such as Newsweek go about their dirty work unnoticed.

Texas Fred weighs in on the Obama war against Fox.

Sebastian comments on some chilling stuff going on at the Federal Trade Commission regarding Internet communication...one more reason to be wary, folks--and hyper-vigilant.

Say Uncle has something that may be off-topic for the Roundup, but it makes for an interesting read on the Netbook--the 'EeePC.'

From Alphecca: 'One Shot, One Dead Mutant.'

Jennifer Weber presents 'the value of traditional values.'

Walls of the City posts some great gun pics from the '2nd or None' Rally this weekend.

Ride Fast and Shoot Straight has an important read, entitled, 'The Irony of Government-Think.'

Breda has an interesting take on 'gun dreams.' Now, if we listen to that bimbo I told you about earlier, we would have to assume that anytime one dreams about a gun, that gun is a phallic symbol. But, since my view is that such a notion is pure bullshit, we'll let Breda explain her take on it.

Why Would a President Declare War on a News Network?

THAT is the question of the hour!

Read all about it at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

The attack on free speech in a free media is growing quite serious, folks. Watch it!

Some Bimbo

OK, so some bimbo sends me a comment concerning guns and men that I refused to post. But I am going to tell you about, if for no other reason than to highlight the sheer ignorance of it.

The bimbo stated in explicit terms (which I will not use here) that the reason male shooters love their handguns so much is that it is our attempt to make up for what we lack below the belt, i.e., the 'male member.'

Now, we shooters, both male and female, have heard this balderdash before. I wonder what the bimbo thinks about all of the female shooters out there, given that they don't have a 'male member.'

That point aside, I would like to take this opportunity to point out something to all such ignoramuses like the bimbo. Rather than our handguns being an attempt to make up for something we lack, I believe that our handguns reflect our sexuality.

This is why one of my favorite handguns in my arsenal is the .357 Mag. And it doesn't shoot blanks, either....

Rasmussen: More Bad News for Obama and 'ObamaCare'

One of the most trusted and accurate pollsters in the nation, Scott Rasmussen, released Monday's daily Presidential tracking poll one hour ago.

And there is more bad news for Obama and the Senate's version of 'ObamaCare.'

First, let's look at the President's poll numbers. Only 30% of Americans strongly approve of Obama's performance in office. 40% strongly disapprove of the President's job performance.

That gives Obama a net approval index of -10 (MINUS 10).

The poll numbers on the Obama-Congressional proposal to totally revamp the U.S. Healthcare system are even worse. 54% of Americans disapprove of the healthcare proposal, while only 42% approve.

It is highly interesting that the more Obama takes to the campaign trail to hype his snake-oil healthcare proposal, the more Americans are turning against it.

Confirmed: What I've Been Saying All Along About CBS News is True

Well, my friends, the cat has been let out of the bag. A former CBS reporter, who worked at the network for 10 years, stated that every reporter and producer at CBS News, except for one, is a liberal.

Co-anchor Mika Brzezinski at 'Morning Joe' on MSNBC made the comments on the air this morning.

I have been telling you for years about the blatant news bias at CBS, but then, MSNBC has nothing to brag about since the network and its sister news organization, NBC, is overtly in the hip pocket of the Obama Administration.

Here is a sampling of some of our previous reports on the leftist bias of CBS News:

Hypocrisy and Bias--the old CBS News Yet Lives
More Spin from Katie Couric and CBS News
Leftwing Activist New Head of CBS News
Couric/CBS News Adopt Strategy of Obama
Another Couric-CBS News Hit Piece on Sarah Palin

Communist China Policies Floated in U.S.

Andrew Revkin, who reports on environmental issues for The New York Times, floated an idea last week for combating global warming: Give carbon credits to couples that limit themselves to having one child.

Read the whole bloody thing here.

Child-bearing is a decision that is left to the discretion of individual parents, not the government in the name of some false, made-up hoax known as 'global warming.'

This is simply one more example of the true motivations of the Obamanoids who have more in common with the ChiComs than liberty-loving Americans!

'Morning in America...' Lessons from Reagan

One vital element is missing from the message of most politicians and candidates today. Can you guess what it is?

Ronald Reagan holds the clue. Find out about it at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

This formula, when sincerely held and practiced, will help any conservative candidate gain an upper hand and help 'bring America back.'
