Should Governor Sanford Resign?

With the New York Times calling for the resignation of South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, it is imperative that we consider some deeper issues at play.

For a more balanced perspective, read my latest at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

They who live in glass houses should cast no stones. And in this case we must remember that Sanford has been a stellar example of fiscal conservatism.

Western Rifle Shooters Association presents 'Devolution--20 Predictions.' Good reading.

From Sipsy Street Irregulars: 'They Don't Hate Our Guns, They Hate US!'

Tam points to some pure, unadulterated, aromatic BS from the Associated Press concerning bloggers.

Nicki says that D.C. is obviously scared they'll get their butts kicked in court yet again on the gun issue. Take a look.

ALERT! Act NOW to Stop Cap and Tax!!

Extremist environmentalist nutcase algore is working the phones like crazy to help Obama, Pelosi, and other tax-hungry politicians ram through the ominous cap and trade bill.

ACT NOW to stop it! Call your Senators and Representatives to express your strong disapproval of this bill.

The bill will lead to the loss of an estimated one million U.S. jobs in the midst of a deep recession. It will also mean that every household in America will owe at least $3000 per year extra on their energy costs.

Can you afford that? I can't.

This amounts to nothing more than a tax levied on every American citizen--poor, middle class, and wealthy--in order to line the government coffers and 'stick it' to the oil and natural gas industry...the single largest source of energy for our homes.

Call Washington and tell these money-grubbing thieves NO!

Obama's Strange Answer on Gov't Healthcare

Did you happen to catch Obama's answer to a question about gov't healthcare during his news conference yesterday? It seems the President has a highly odd notion about private insurers being able to compete with a tax-subsidized government healthcare corporation.

Blowing the Lid on the Progressive Movement

Liberals today prefer to be called 'progressives.' But have you ever stopped to consider the history and goals of the progressive movement? It is an eye-opener.

I discuss this topic today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

It is imperative that we consider the underlying philosophy of this movement as we fight the attempts of the big government statists to intrude in every aspect of our lives.

ACORN Bullying Exposed, Changes Name

Whistleblowers who once worked for ACORN are under attack for exposing the under-the-table tactics it employed to push the Obama candidacy while promoting itself merely as a 'voter registration organization.'

As the organization faces numerous criminal investigations in a number of states, ACORN decides to change its name.

No matter. A stench by any other name is still a stench.

Meanwhile, the Obama White House is on a witch hunt to punish anyone who seeks to expose the truth.

Michelle Malkin has the entire explosive story.

Wondering if Gibson Will Bow to 'Dear Leader'

Tomorrow is the big day when ABC News will use all of its news broadcasts to promote Obama's plan for a government takeover of healthcare.

I wonder if Charles Gibson and company will bow to 'dear leader' when standing in his luminous presence.

Brian Williams of NBC News did exactly that a few weeks ago after interviewing Obama at the White House.

Is this now what the Fuhrer expects from his loyal subjects?

It only stands to reason that NBC, which is owned by GE, which is solidly in the tank for Obama and his 'green initiatives'--and now ABC/Disney, which has thrown its journalistic integrity out the window in order to become part of the new 'Pravda'--would be expected to act as loyal little subjects to the headmaster. He owns them now.

Watch the body language tomorrow if you think you can stomach this charade. As for me, I won't watch a single minute of it. Of course, I gave up on Couric and Williams too. I don't depend on the government propaganda machine for my news.

'The Women of the Iranian Revolution'

She was young, pretty, vivacious. And she was murdered in cold blood by barbaric jackbooted government thugs in Iran. Her face has now become a rallying cry for freedom fighters in Iran and other oppressed nations around the world.

Neda was her name. She is among the bold, courageous women of the Iranian Revolution.

Read all about her and others in a moving tribute at Atlas Shrugs.

And remember, this could well be the U.S. in a few short years, perhaps sooner.

Obama Downfall Hinges on One Violation of Law

If and when liberals get their conscience back, one single violation of the law may well spur Barack Obama's downfall.

And it is a law he himself helped craft and pass!

This is my subject today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 6/22/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Pundit and Pundette posts a must-read entitled, 'Michael Barone's 3 Rules of Obama.' Do yourself a big favor and read this in order to understand the Obama mindset.

Open Carry has an interesting discussion thread going on where 'open carry' is legal in the country.

KC3 reports that gun-free school zones are nothing but killing zones.

The Buckeye Firearms Association files an important update on its lawsuit against the city of Cleveland concerning the city's violations of firearms rights.

David Codrea reports that NRA members are complaining about the ATF's heavy-handed tactics in border states with Mexico. Heavy-handedness seems to be the ATF's MO.

Sebastian says that the Bangor Daily News thinks it has found a loophole in the National Parks Carry law.

Mike Vanderboegh provides essential reading on the dangers of gun registration from one of the greats of the past. Don't pass up this one!

Kurt Hofmann has a brand-new one today entitled, 'Gun Rights Advocacy is Not Responsible for Killings.' A good read!

Say Uncle provides a couple of links on the 2009 legislative roundup in Tennessee, concerning gun rights.

Tam says that one of Obama's media slaves in the MSM tried to 'slip {the Dear Leader} some tongue when reporting on the economy.

Nicki shows us her new toy direct from Springfield Armory, and it's a beaut!

Alphecca notes the blatant media bias concerning voter fraud in Iran vs. voter fraud in the U.S.

Brigid muses that the 'return to the Wild West' mantra that anti-gun activists use is highly flawed. Read it all.

The Wandering Minstrel blogs on 'fun with fireballs' in his day at the range report.

From Conservative Libertarian Outpost: 'Obama Care, Teddy Care, and so on...'

Days of Our Trailers reports that now Jamaica has jumped on the bandwagon, blaming the U.S. for the 'flow of weapons' into the island nation.

Texas Fred has an important post on the terror watch list and gun purchases.

Notoriously Conservative wants to know if 'San Fran Nan' is actually 'Skeletor.'

Insight on Freedom observes that the U.S. Congress continues to grovel in the presence of 'The Chosen One.'

Ride Fast and Shoot Straight has 'land mine maps--California's gun-free zones.' Take a look.

Dustin's Gun Blog alerts us to a breaking update on hearings on the Arizona parking lot gun storage bill.

Liberals 'Buying Up Guns'?

A reader reported last week that one liberal told him that people on the Left are beginning to 'buy up guns.' The reason? They are afraid of the millions of gun owners who are arming to the hilt in response to Obama.

ROFL!

For one thing, I don't believe it.

And even if it were true, it is amazing how quickly liberals give up on their core principles when they face a perceived 'threat.'

Of course, we have known about the liberal hypocrisy on guns for years. Even Senator Dianne Feinstein armed herself when she and her family were the recipients of threats from a Leftwing subversive group years ago. Yet Feinstein would deny that right to most Americans with her decidedly anti-gun, anti-self-defense votes.

But even so, if the liberals begin to 'buy up guns' and thus exercise their Constitutional right to own firearms, I will be among the first to congratulate them for coming around to our point of view.

Dems to Ram Gov't-Run Healthcare Through Congress

Canada Free Press is reporting this morning that Democrats in Congress are prepared to ram the gov't-run healthcare bill through Congress and shove it down the throats of Americans whether we want it or not.

A key Democrat, New York Sen. Charles Schumer, said this option now seems even more of a necessity in view of unsuccessful behind-the-scenes attempts to get a deal with Republicans on nonprofit co-ops as an alternative to a public plan.

Schumer told The Associated Press Sunday night that those efforts have proved frustrating, saying that he and his Democratic colleagues now may have to go it alone.

Why am I not surprised that 'Little Chucky' is one of the main forces behind this nightmare?

Obama's Negatives Growing

Scott Rasmussen, who has issued a daily Presidential tracking poll for years, has reported that Obama's negatives are now greater than his positives. 34% of the country now strongly disapproves of Obama's job performance, while 33% strongly approves.

This is a much more telling number than the generic, overall 58% approval rating Obama supposedly gets from the electorate. While Americans still like Obama personally, the fact that there has been a major shift in the number who 'strongly disapprove' of his policies is a sign that all is not well in the Obama camp.

My hunch is that these negatives will only grow larger as Obama has from day one set himself on a collision course with American values and core principles.
