Pelosi Should Step Down

With her integrity increasingly in doubt, it is time for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to relinquish her role as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

This is the subject of my latest op-ed at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

What can we say about someone who would prosecute government officials for waterboarding, when she admits she knew it had been used as far back as 2003, yet said and did nothing?

"Who's REALLY Heartless?"

Rev. Kharma's co-blogger, 'The Deacon,' has written an article today that I am eager to pass along.

In South Carolina, Governor Mark Sanford has refused to ask for bailout money from the federal government, which has brought him tons of criticism, particularly from the education lobby in the state, which claims the Governor is 'heartless' due to the fact that refusing the money will cost teachers jobs, in their view.

But who is really being 'heartless' here?

Here is an excerpt from the article:

There is much politics within the school system as well as surrounding it. What many don’t know or don’t understand is that many teachers coming out of college have to go outside SC to get a job. There are not enough the slots for them available here.

Why is it that many new teachers must go out of state to get a job? Why is it that we must further cut jobs? One reason is the TERI program. The “Teacher and Employee Retention Incentive” program is what is both filling slots new teachers could have, and also eating into the state budget. This is a problem for new teachers, and the state budget, by allowing a teacher to continue to draw retirement and to earn teacher salary and leave, “at the rate consistent with their years of service”, on top of that. So rather than pay a new teacher a first year salary, also providing a job, you close up the job market and over pay a teacher for doing the same job. “The TERI program is designed for employees who wish to access their retirement contributions from the SC Retirement System, but desire to continue employment with the agency and retain the same position they held prior to entering the program.” Wow, Holy Double Dipper Batman! To boot, depending on which version of TERI, they can have contracts for specific terms so they are paid for the term of the contract rather than working as the need exists. What a deal!

Thus, by merely doing away with the TERI program, schools districts could hire teachers with no problem, even without federal stimulus money.

The Deacon correctly vindicates Governor Sanford while naming the ones who are actually responsible for the state's budgetary woes.

But this story is not exclusive to South Carolina. The same scenario is being played out in numerous states across the country. It is time to stop and ask, 'Who is really responsible for the mess other than the easily-vilified fall guys the liberals and media identify?

Follow the money trail, and usually you will find out.

Be sure to read the entire article here.

LIBERTY ALERT! Feds Target Small Banks!

Via Matt Drudge, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is now targeting small community banks for federal bailout funds.

Two questions arise:

1. Will the government force some banks to take the funds as they did with the nation's largest banks, whether or not they need or want the money?

2. Will the government force itself upon these small banks as part owner, as it did with the large banks?

The socialist assault on America's financial institutions continues...

Not surprising, since many of his supporters sported images of Castro's hit-man, the mass-murderer Che Guevara.

One would think that things had changed in the Commie regime to our south.

Not so! They're still the same old goons and thugs as always. And a recent incident with a blogger proves it!

Numbskull at the Helm

Unlike the Bush administration, the staff of President Obama is not coordinating its policy on Iran or the greater Middle East with Israel and has not been informing the Jewish state of its plans or recent diplomatic developments in area, according to sources in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office.

We have a numbskull at the helm in the White House. Read the entire sickening story of Obama's non-cooperation with Israel here.

A Message to 'Comic Actress' Wanda Sykes

So you think a joke about 'hoping Rush Limbaugh's kidneys fail' is funny.

Mmmm. Interesting.

What if we made similar 'hilarious' jokes about Ted Kennedy, for example. Maybe something like, 'I bet he'll enjoy his brain tumor-induced seizures better than getting drunk,' or something of that sort.

Or better still, 'Hope he has a seizure while in the Senate chamber so we can laugh at him.'

That's not so funny, now, is it, Wanda.

You have done nothing but prove to the American public that you and your ilk (including Obama, who laughed at your hate-fest masquerading as a joke) are truly the most hateful, heartless, classless, and despicable human beings on the planet.

You are only one step away from being as bad as Al Qaeda.

The Cheney Offensive

No matter what you think of former Vice-President Dick Cheney, consider his latest interview during which he said the following:

*Obama's policies are a danger to the security of the United States.

*The interrogation techniques used after 9/11 saved countless thousands of American lives.

*If he had to choose between Rush Limbaugh and Colin Powell as the face of the Republican Party, he would prefer Limbaugh.

So far, he's batting 1000. Personally, I would have rather had Cheney as President than Bush from 2001-2008.
