Good Rebuttal to Paul Helmke

Perhaps more than any other 'anti-gun' group in America, the Brady Campaign (to rob citizens of their guns) has done significant damage to gun rights. This is due to nothing more than their having the ear of politicians in Washington who will use any excuse to weaken the Second Amendment.

As the head of the Brady Campaign, Paul Helmke's anti-gun vitriol has been widely reported, and widely rebuked.

Yet the significant and insightful arguments presented in rebuttal to Helmke get almost no broad-based coverage, except among pro-Second Amendment circles.

The Newbius Papers presents a significant contribution to the argument by parsing the wording of the Second Amendment in a manner that clearly reveals its intent...and provides an important rebuttal to the Brady Campaign and Paul Helmke.

The Best Healthcare System in the World

Before we go running headlong into the abyss of government-run healthcare, we had best first consider 10 documented facts which show that our own U.S. system of private care is far superior to those countries with socialized, national, government-run care.

And this is my topic of discussion today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

I would deeply appreciate your reading it and passing it along to others. Thanks!

WRSA: Time for Economic Civil Disobedience

Some time ago I wrote on The Liberty Sphere that there may well come a time when patriotic citizens will be forced to engage in civil disobedience in the era of Obama.

As I stated at the time, such an act would come at tremendous personal cost and is thus a decision that each individual must make as they see fit.

The type of civil disobedience I mentioned was the refusal to pay federal taxes. I stated that individuals and businesses should at the very least seriously consider expressing the ultimate disapproval of a government raging out of control--the refusal of the citizens to fund it.

If enough citizens and businesses would do this in tandem, the government would be forced to make necessary cuts in spending--cuts that could well save our republic.

In the spirit of that concept, Western Rifle Shooters Association suggests that the time for such civil disobedience has arrived.

Given the unprecedented government spending that is sure to bankrupt the country eventually, WRSA and others maintain that in order to save the Republic the citizens are going to have to undertake some personal sacrifice to stop the madness.

While this article does not mention refusing to pay taxes as a possible course of action, it does present some less draconian alternatives that are worthy of a careful reading and careful consideration.

ACTION ALERT ON NEW NATIONAL SERVICE BILL

The newly-approved bill creating a national service corp does not yet contain that 'mandatory' provision as it was originally envisioned, but that could quickly change.

There are also other major changes afoot in Congress concerning this disturbing bill that you should know.

This alert was just sent out by the editors at Net Right Nation:

Fellow Bloggers,

This week, the Democrats in the Senate and House introduced a devastating new bill – the so-called Generations Invigorating Volunteers and Education Act (S.277) – that would allow politicians to funnel billions of tax dollars to leftwing organizations that they could then use for political purposes. As a blogger, you are the front line for exposing what legislation does.

It's being done under the guise of enabling Barack Obama to build his $5 billion, 250,000-member “volunteer” youth corps – “just as powerful, just as strong” as the U.S. military, as he promised during his campaign. You may remember that chilling speech in Colorado Springs:

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

If the so-called GIVE Act is passed in its present form, groups like ACORN and Jessie Jackson's PUSH will receive multi-million-dollar grants for lobbying, community organizing, protests, strikes – and just about any other activity they believe would further their hard left agenda. And that would mean your tax dollars would be used to pass legislation and elect politicians you absolutely oppose!

Fortunately, Sen. Jim DeMint has introduced a vital amendment to GIVE that would prohibit “advocacy” groups or groups co-located with advocacy groups from receiving any assistance under the Act. The DeMint Amendment would automatically prohibit any organization “engaged in legislative advocacy” – or working hand in hand with such organizations -- from receiving assistance under the GIVE Act. And that, of course, is exactly how it should be.

Leftwing groups and blogs are flooding the Senate with angry demands that the DeMint Amendment be defeated. They know it could cost them hundreds of millions of your tax dollars – and prevent them from using your money to disrupt our entire political system.

That's why I am asking you to join me in matching them call for call. We must fight them on the blogosphere as well. You have the power to expose this bill for what it is—a shame! Time is of the essence. The DeMint Amendment prohibiting advocacy organizations from receiving assistance under the GIVE Act could come up for a vote at any moment. We still have time to keep this language in the bill. But, we must act now!

Please contact your Senators immediately and let them know how the DeMint Amendment's prohibition on nonprofit advocacy will help saves billions of tax dollars and prevent leftwing organizations from corrupting our political system. Tell them to vote to keep the DeMint Amendment in the bill -- and keep your tax dollars from going to groups whose policies and politics you oppose.

I hope many of you will spring into action on this as soon as possible.

LIBERTY ALERT! Pelosi Introduces Socialized Care

Word has come this afternoon that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has stated that the new bill introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on healthcare will include a provision mandating government control.

Thus, the dire predictions of so-called 'alarmists' who warned of sinister intentions behind the push for 'healthcare reform' are turning out to be 100% correct.

This bill is not simply about expanding 'access' to care for uninsured Americans. This is an outright attempt to insure that government runs the healthcare system, or in other words, 'socialized medicine.'

These reasons are discussed in my column today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

LIBERTY ALERT! National Service Becomes Law

Rubber-stamping a House bill approved earlier, the U.S. Senate approved an Obama-initiated measure creating a mandatory 'national service corp.'

Obama was expected to quickly sign the measure into law.

And thus begins our historic first experiment as a nation with a Nazi-like 'youth service league,' which Hitler began prior to WWII to train footsoldiers for the march toward 'national socialism,' which was known at the time as fascism.

Here is the news report concerning the bill.

Obama Gets Hammered by the Press

Finally, Barack Obama was asked some tough questions by a skeptical media Tuesday night as he attempted to defend his economic proposals.

The problem is that Obama's answers are tantamount to economic voodoo.

And this is my subject of discussion today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Thank-you for reading it and passing it along!

"Why Big Cities Want Gun Control"

In short, it's all about control and dependence. For politicians, it means more control and power over the lives of citizens. For the citizens, it is the perfect example of the mindset of dependence--letting others care for me is better than me caring for myself.

Read this entire thought-provoking report here.

Whistleblowers Implicate ACORN!

The allegations were so shocking, so pervasive, and so serious that even Democrats on Capitol Hill called for a full investigation of ACORN--Barack Obama's supposed 'voter registration organization.'

Insiders in the organization told a House subcommittee that there is widespread fraud, intimidation tactics, and outright violations of federal law by ACORN officials.

Back during the campaign I warned repeatedly that ACORN was going to steal the election for Barack Obama. In fact, when I suggested after the election that this is exactly what had happened, I was immediately berated as an 'alarmist' and told that the 'the margin of victory for Obama was too large for fraud to have been involved.'

Not when you have a national organization that used its influence in voter registration to employ tactics that made sure Obama received millions of votes that were tainted!

Read the entire report here.

Bush Vindicated by Revelation of Uranium Shipments

Former President George W. Bush has apparently been vindicated by the revelation of secret shipments of uranium from Iraq to Canada, dating back to the regime of Saddam Hussein prior to the U.S. intervention.

CNN is reporting that 500 tons of low-grade uranium was secretly shipped out of Iraq with the full cooperation of the Canadian government.

Uranium is a key ingredient in the making of nuclear weapons.

Thus, it is apparent that the claim that 'nothing was found in Iraq' which could be connected with the making of weapons of mass destruction is clearly wrong.

My hunch is that Bush knew much more about the danger the U.S. and the world faced--but chose not to disclose such information for national security purposes.

LIBERTY ALERT! Secrets of BO's Civilian Force

The U.S. House of Representatives gave its approval for Barack Obama to form a new civilian national security force in a piece of legislation called 'GIVE.'

This act is replete with many references to 'mandatory volunteer service,' nevermind the Orwellian newspeak.

Secrets contained in this piece of legislation should be enough to make any thinking American cringe. This is NOT merely an innocuous attempt at some sort of honorable national service opportunity for patriotic Americans. It is a blatant attempt by Obama to form a youth movement reminiscent of Hitler's organization prior to WWII.

For the complete inside scoop on this, please read THIS.

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

David also reports that Examiner web pages have been down today. He points to an alternative site for the gun examiners.

Snubbing Our Allies, Befriending Terrorists

Why would a U.S. President snub our closest allies while befriending terrorist regimes around the world?

This is my subject of discussion today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Either Obama is a complete buffoon who is incapable of grasping the most elementary principles of foreign policy, or his actions depict a much more sinister plan. In either case his actions are placing the nation at great peril.

Orlando Taxpayer Revolt Attracts 4000!

The Tea Party taxpayer revolt that is spreading nationwide is growing by leaps and bounds.

Orlando, Florida was the site of one of the most recent tea parties, and, according to the Orlando Sentinel, 4000 people showed up to protest Barack Obama's reckless spending spree.

Read the complete story here.

Obama Snubs Yet Another U.S. Ally

This is beginning to happen so often it's ridiculous as well as embarrassing.

Not only is Obama satisfied with insulting Britain (twice), Israel, and cozying up to terrorist regimes in the Middle East, but now he has insulted French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

It seems that our illustrious idiot-in-chief wrote an official letter to FORMER French President Jacques Chirac, pledging to 'work with the former President.'

Jacques Chirac, the man who opposed the U.S. at every turn, the man who was responsible for providing Saddam Hussein with Iraq's first nuclear reactor, is to be preferred over the current French President...that is, inside the delusional head of Barack Obama.

If we don't impeach this son of a bitch we are going to alienate ALL of our allies in lieu of befriending barbaric Islamic regimes such as Iran!

"Obama's Communist Attraction"

Learning from J. Edgar Hoovers, “A Study Of Communism,” the parallels between the attractions of communism presented (economic, sociological, political and psychological) and the current Obama administrations appeal are startling. Hopefully this may help those who worship the dangerous administration, reflect on just what it is they are being led to. The destruction of every freedom they now take for granted.

There is absolutely no doubt that Obama has an affinity for Communist ideals. This article lays out in striking detail the systematic plan of Obama and company to infringe on the liberties of American citizens.

Ron Paul Predicts 15-Year Depression

U.S. Congressman and former GOP Presidential candidate Ron Paul has predicted a 15-year depression due to the current economic policies and the cumulative effect of the economic polices of the past few decades.

The Congressman maintains that no investment that is deemed by experts as 'safe' is actually safe.

As an advocate for small government and fiscal responsibility, Dr. Paul has been a consistent critic of the expansion of big government and the reckless spending of tax dollars by the current administration.

Rating Obama on the Issues

According to my ratings on 10 key issues, it is my opinion that Barack Obama is well on his way to becoming the worst President in U.S. history, even worse than Jimmy Carter and Warren G. Harding.

And this is my subject in today's column at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

I deeply appreciate your willingness to read this daily column and spread the word to others.

Get Set to Pay $1800 in Higher Energy Costs

Barack Obama has admitted that his plan to raise taxes on energy will result in an average increase of $1800 per year per household.

This means that our electric and gas bills will skyrocket through the roof.

Read this stunning report here.

Do you still believe that Obama is really going to lower the taxes of the middle class? Just wait until you start paying for these Democrat-initiated tax increases on energy in a couple of years.

And the gall that they display in rolling out this plan in the middle of a severe recession is simply unconscionable, proving once again that Obama and company are not one bit concerned about the middle class or the poor or anything else but advancing an agenda.

And that agenda is to force Americans to conserve by taxing the hell out of them. Thus, we freeze in the winter and roast in the summer...just like the good little environmentalist wackos want us to do.

They will then take all of that money that they confiscate from the taxpayers and pour it into environmentalist-wacko approved energy sources. Solar, big wind, ethanol, and hydrogen fuel cell will all benefit. But oil, gas, coal, and nuclear will suffer.

Another Obama Anti-Gun Political Operative

Information is slowly emerging concerning rabid anti-gun operatives working just under the radar screen in the Obama administration. Mike McCarville had identified yet another one.

Obama's Secretary of Education is Arne Duncan, who ran Chicago's public school system. Other than the fact that Obama chose a person for the top post who ran a horribly failing system of education in Chicago, it seems Duncan is one of the 'true believers' who claim that the issue of guns is a 'public health issue,' and thus he would reach into your home if he could to rob you of the right to have them.

Duncan is one of many within the Obama administration who have a long history of extremist views on gun rights, meaning that they are totally against the right of citizens to own them.

Read the entire report at the link above.
