Codrea: Ammo Regs Mean Violation of Gun Rights

Let's cut right to the chase here, shall we? Ammunition regulations and/or bans are a form of gun bans. If you can't buy ammo for your firearm, then what good is it?

And this is exactly how the antis plan it. Without banning a single gun, they can render them useless by going after the ammunition.

David Codrea takes a look at this, and writes about an encounter he had on this issue some time ago, in today's Gun Rights Examiner.

Read it and pass it along to a friend.

Glick: The Real Reason for the War in Gaza

As always, Middle East expert and internationally-renown journalist Caroline Glick hits the nail on the head:

ONE OF the troubling aspects shared by both the IDF campaign and the diplomatic offensive is that both ignore the principal cause of the war. As a consequence, Israel has ruled out the possibility of actually winning a true victory in its current fight with Hamas. Here, too, our leaders ignore the true cause of the war because they know that they will pay no price for doing so.

Israel is not fighting Hamas today because it agreed to a six-month cease-fire with the terrorist regime in Gaza last June. And it is not fighting today because Hamas decided that it wants control over Gaza's international borders.

Israel is fighting a war with Hamas today because Israel withdrew from Gaza three and a half years ago. If Israel had not withdrawn its military forces from Gaza and forcibly expelled 8,000 Israeli citizens from their homes and farms in September 2005, it would not be fighting this war today. If Israel had not withdrawn, if it had retained its forces in Gaza and retained its communities - on whose ruins the IDF now fights - in Gaza, Hamas would probably never have taken over. And even if Hamas had taken over, it would never have been able to threaten a million Israelis with missiles and rockets and mortars.

Bitter Cold Temps to Hit Eastern Half of U.S.

Meteorologists have identified what is known as an 'Arctic Express' that will bring bitterly cold temperatures to the entire eastern half of the U.S., from the Great Plains to the East Coast, and even into the Deep South.

AccuWeather experts say it will be the coldest blast since 1994.

Temperatures in New York City could reach below zero, and in the upper New England states temps could dip into the minus-double-digits.

On top of that, more snow is expected as well in a year in which annual snowfall records have already been broken in a dozen places or more.

The Arctic Express is expected to reach the United States by next Thursday and Friday.

In 1994, the last time we saw this phenomenon, even Jacksonville, Florida plunged into the teens and 20s.

MSNBC Blasts Palin Again

Even after openly admitting that it actively promoted Barack Obama for President during its supposed 'objective' news broadcasts, MSNBC has blasted Sarah Palin yet again.

As if the campaign trash the network threw at the public concerning Palin and her family weren't enough, an MSNBC anchor stated yesterday that 'Palin is unqualified.'

How so? By whose standard?

Oh, you mean according to the standard of a network that is owned by a company that was promised bailout money by the Obama team if it would help get the candidate elected?

The statement took place as the anchor was interviewing the filmmaker who is releasing a documentary on Palin in late February entitled, 'Media Malpractice.'

Instead of 'the UNfairness Doctrine' in news reporting, I support what I call the 'Justice Doctrine.' The only way the American public can get justice with regard to a blatantly biased mainstream media is to shut down MSNBC, ABC, NBC, ABC, and CNN...along with the NYT, WaPO, and Newsweek.

An Ol' Broad's Ramblings presents today's edition of 'Obamarama'--the funniest political cartoons you will see, all at the expense of the Obamessiah.

OBAMA TEAM TO HOLD TALKS WITH TERRORISTS

According to a major newspaper in the U.K. (h/t to Matt Drudge), the incoming Obama administration plans to open talks with the terrorist organization Hamas.

Though the talks would be considered 'low level diplomacy,' opening such talks with terrorists would be a major change in U.S. foreign policy and one that would create a firestorm of controversy among those who are convinced that talking with terrorists gives them legitimacy.

Such a strategy is a recipe for disaster, particularly in light of Obama's choice for CIA director, who has no experience in the intelligence community and who is ideologically opposed to such intelligence gathering to begin with.

We are going to be headed down a path that invites terrorism to our shores.

Wall St. Journal: Jews Face Double-Standard

There are a great many people in the world who, even after Auschwitz, just can't bear the Jewish state having the same rights they so readily grant to other nations. These voices insist Israel must take risks they would never dare ask of any other nation-state -- risks that threaten its very survival -- because they don't believe Israel should exist in the first place.

Just look at the spate of attacks this week on Jews and Jewish institutions around the world: a car ramming into a synagogue in France; a Chabad menorah and Jewish-owned shops sprayed with swastikas in Belgium; a banner at an Australian rally demanding "clean the earth from dirty Zionists!"; demonstrators in the Netherlands chanting "Gas the Jews"; and in Florida, protestors demanding Jews "Go back to the ovens!"

Read the whole thing here at the Wall Street Journal.

Why is the world unwilling to afford Israel the same right to self-defense as it affords all other nations?

Sarah Palin Speaks Out on 'Media Malpractice'

In a new documentary film to be released in late February entitled, 'Media Malpractice,' Sarah Palin takes aim at the mainstream media over the manner in which her candidacy was handled.

Palin blasts Katie Couric, and rightly so, for a deft 'cut-and-paste' job in the interviews she did for CBS News, which left Palin looking very different than the Sarah Palin everyone knows and loves.

Apparently Couric and company left out a ton of material that would have shown a much different--and positive--picture of Palin than the one that was aired.

But then, we told you that right here on The Liberty Sphere. Couric is a hack, a lightweight, a sorry excuse for a serious reporter. The same can be said for her counterparts at NBC and ABC.

Palin goes further to talk about media hypocrisy--another issue we talk about quite a bit here at The Liberty Sphere.

When Barack Obama, for example, requested of the media that they consider his child to be off-limits, they gladly complied. But Palin? Her children have been dragged through the mud as if they were scum of the earth.

According to statements actually made in the mainstream media, Palin is not the mother of Trig, Trig should have been aborted, Palin's daughter is trash because she became pregnant out of wedlock, Palin and her husband are awful parents because as Christians they should not have raised a daughter who became pregnant out of wedlock, and other such outrageous displays of the lack of journalistic integrity.

The Leftwing in this country, of which Democrats, the mainstream media, environmentalist wackos, and others are a part, have so many double-standards that one's head begins to spin.

And in this election in particular, that double-standard was multiplied by 10 for one single-minded purpose--to get Barack Obama elected to the Presidency.

Well, Palin will have her revenge once the documentary is released. And it will be long overdue.

Is Yellowstone's Super-Volcano Ready to Blow?

According to seismologists the Yellowstone National Park sits on top of what is called a 'super-volcano.' Hidden under the ground or the oceans, these gigantic geological monstrosities usually can't be seen with the naked eye.

Yet scientists maintain that should one of them blow, such as Yellowstone's, the entire U.S. would be covered with volcanic ash and the climate would change for a period of months--similar in scope to a 'nuclear winter' but not as catastrophic.

Seismologists have been concerned of late about a series of small earthquakes in and around the Yellowstone region, activity that goes hand-in-hand with volcanic activity in those areas that are prone to it.

From December 26 through January 2, over 500 small earthquakes were recorded in the region, some of them reaching a disturbing scale of just over 3.0 in intensity.

However, since January 2, the quakes have drastically decreased in their intensity, though they are still occurring.

While scientists are taking somewhat of a sigh of relief, it is clear that the area still poses some significant risk. Although the explosion of a super-volcano would not mean the end of civilization as would a direct hit by an asteroid, our way of life would be drastically interrupted.

The electronic infrastructure would be seriously impaired or rendered inoperable. The nation would be plunged into a severe winter from which it would find little relief due to the damage sustained to the energy delivery system.

These events, in addition to the possibility of being struck by asteroids or meteors, pose much more of a risk to humanity than 'man-made climate change.'

For more information on the seismic activity at Yellowstone, including today's update, click HERE.

What Do I Think About the Holder-NRA Flap?

Here are a few questions and answers posed by...well...me.

Do you think the NRA and other gun orgs should openly oppose the confirmation of Holder?
...yes...

Do you believe that Holder will be confirmed anyway?
...yes...Americans threw a tantrum and elected a Democrat Senate with a 57-seat majority...this is what happens when people throw a fit and take leave of their senses.

Do you think that the NRA had reason to approach the Holder nomination in the manner it did?
...yes...

Doesn't that mean, then, that you are not sincerely 'pulling out all the stops' in opposing Holder?
...no...I have done my part here and in private...

Aren't you being contradictory?
...Mmmm...nope. I work hard to oppose individuals that I think pose dangers to us, the citizens. I urge organizations to take a stand. But I also know when the enemy has the upper hand, and thus, I must be prepared to counter what they dish out, such as an AG who is anti-gun.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 1/8/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Like a good little Socialist, Obama stated today that 'only government can fix what ails us.' No, Sir. Only autonomous individuals who take responsibility for their own actions can fix what ails us. CNS News has the story.

Nicki provides some slightly strong-worded commentary on this government fix business.

Sebastian responds to charges that the prags are not doing enough to pressure the NRA on the Holder nomination:

Michelle Malkin points to a riveting UCLA study that shows FDR worsened the Great Depression by his economic policies--policies that Obama intends to resurrect.

Texas Fred adds his commentary to the debate on Obama's economic stimulus package.

Walls of the City provides excellent reading on modern attitudes toward the carry of firearms.

Atlas Shrugs reports that Hamas rigged the UN school with explosives! So, then, does that make Hamas the real murderers of 'innocent civilian children?'

Draconian Rules Change Creates Partisan Furor

The draconian rules change in the U.S. House of Representatives, initiated by Nancy Pelosi and approved overwhelmingly by House Democrats who control the chamber, has created a partisan furor in Washington.

In spite of Barack Obama's talk about 'reaching across the aisle' in a spirit of bipartisanship, the Democrats not only gave a thumbs down to that idea but went further to essentially strip the GOP of any influence whatsoever upon proposed legislation.

The rules change will mean the following:

*The repeal of term limits for committee chairs implemented by Republicans
*The elimination of the 'motion to recommit' on the part of the minority Party
*The end of free, open debate on the House floor on Democrat-initiated bills
*The elimination of the opportunity of the minority to offer alternative bills to proposed legislation

As Robert Romano states in the article linked above:

Without the ability to offer alternatives to pieces of legislation like cap-and-trade, socialized medicine, massive bailout proposals for the Majority’s favored industries, restrictions on energy production, etc., the GOP is being robbed of the chance to debate some of the most important issues facing Congress during the coming session.

And we can safely add to that list gun control legislation that will roll back the clock to more oppressive times when gun bans and more restrictions on the right to bear arms were the order of the day.

The Democrats have effectively silenced any free, open debate on the House floor concerning these issues of grave significance.

This means, in stark terms, that extremists such as Carolyn McCarthy, Charles Rangel, and John Conyers, among others, can essentially have their way when it comes to legislation restricting Second Amendment rights.

Supposedly the American public rebelled against partisanship in the last election. Yet, the representatives they elected to Congress have just insured the most partisan atmosphere in Washington in decades.

The IRS 'Has a Heart' After All?

In light of the current economic crisis in the country, apparently the IRS 'has a heart' after all.

As the nation sinks deeper into recession, the IRS is offering to waive late penalties, negotiate new payment plans and postpone asset seizures for delinquent taxpayers who are financially strapped, but make a good-faith effort to settle their tax debts.

The article goes further to specify how to deal with the IRS in the midst of a personal financial crisis.

Watchdog groups, however, will be monitoring the IRS plan to insure fairness and minimize the potential for abuse.

The Quintessential Example of Media Hypocrisy

A couple of days ago Matt Drudge caused a firestorm of controversy to sweep conservative circles when he reported that NBC was considering banning columnist Ann Coulter 'for life.'

That may yet happen, no doubt, but not yet.

Coulter appeared on NBC's Today Show yesterday morning, and once again caused liberals and mainstream media types to grind their teeth--all as part of making her rounds to promote her new book.

But, as L. Brent Bozell III writes at CNS News, the mainstream media's treatment of Coulter is a blatant example of just how thoroughly partisan it is...and how much it hates the truth.

States Bozell:

It’s easy to run down a list of inflammatory liberals who are welcomed on the TV morning shows. Start with Kitty Kelley’s wild “investigative” books on the Reagans or the Bushes. Or Michael Moore’s kooky conspiracy theories. Or Al Franken suggesting Karl Rove and Scooter Libby should be executed over Plamegate. (NBC’s Matt Lauer and his off-camera crew laughed at that.)

Or recall Bill Maher on his HBO show in 2007 suggesting Arianna Huffington shouldn’t ban commenters on her website wishing Dick Cheney had died in a terrorist attack in Afghanistan. “That’s a funny joke,” Maher said. “If this isn’t China, shouldn’t you be able to say that?” He added that Cheney’s death by suicide bomber might be a public service: “I’m just saying if he did die, other people, more people would live. That’s a fact.”

Harry Smith hosted Maher on CBS just months ago on his faith-mocking movie “Religulous” and didn’t say one discouraging word to him about his caustic remarks about Cheney or his hateful anti-Christian bigotry. Not one word.

And yet, when Coulter exhibits the very same type of acerbic rhetoric aimed at liberals instead of conservatives, the mainstream media in its false righteous indignation acts as if it has the moral authority to pronounce judgment.

Not as long as Matthews, Olbermann, Harry Smith, Matt Lauer, Michael Moore, or Al Franken are around...

And therefore, the Coulter flap is the quintessential example of media hypocrisy.

Walls of the City issues a proposal for gun bloggers concerning next Christmas. Interesting!

Live from the Upper Texas Gulf Coast has some interesting observations concerning radio operations, particularly in hard times.

Andrew Breitbart issues a breaking news alert that Senate Democrats WILL seat Roland Burris. I saw this coming yesterday. It's the result of the 'behind closed doors deal making' the smoke-filled-rooms Democrats brokered.

Michelle Malkin reports that today the GOP will launch a preemptive strike against the Democrats' plan to re-implement the UNfairness Doctrine. Good!

UPDATE: Nan Gets Her Way on New Rules

Commissar Nan Pelosi, Speaker of the House, got her way on the new rules as House Democrats voted overwhelmingly to approve a measure that will muzzle Republicans.

Only a small handful of Democrats did the right thing and voted to retain fairness rules that permit the minority Party to block potential legislation.

The Democrats certainly benefited from the fairness rules while Republicans were in the majority. Never did the GOP attempt to thwart the right of the minority Party to block bills.

Yet when Democrats come to 'power' fairness goes out the door.

And now, the Democrats can steamroll any piece of legislation through Congress without having to contend with opposition.

Sieg Heil!

D.C. Rumors: A Deal in the Works for Burris

Rumors are swirling around Washington that Senate Democrats are considering a deal that would allow Roland Burris to take Obama's vacated Senate seat.

Reportedly, Burris will be allowed to take the seat on 2 conditions.

First, the Illinois legislature must proceed with the impeachment of Governor Rod Blagojevich, who appointed Burris although he is under federal indictment for attempting to sell Obama's Senate seat to the highest bidder.

And second, Burris must promise that he will only serve out the remainder of Obama's Senate term and not become a candidate for the seat during the next election.

Senate Democrats believe that Burris would be a weak candidate against Republican opposition.

Thus, the truth comes out. Despite all the moralizing on the part of Democrats concerning 'a tainted appointment by a tainted Governor,' it all boils down to pure politics, i.e., how to keep a Republican out of the seat now, and who would be the strongest candidate to oppose a Republican in 2010.

Coleman Sues Over Minnesota Recount

Although the state of Minnesota went ahead and certified the clown Al Franken as their new Senator, questions remain as to the integrity of the recount in which Franken won by several hundred votes after the initial vote showed Coleman winning by over 700.

As we have reported on The Liberty Sphere, the entire recount process has been suspicious from the start. Early on, votes that had been cast for Coleman disappeared into thin air while votes for Franken seemed to show up out of nowhere--all in districts that are heavily Democratic.

But the Republican incumbent isn't going down without a fight.

Coleman has held up Franken's swearing in at the U.S. Senate by bringing a last-ditch effort lawsuit to the Minnesota Supreme Court. Coleman is challenging the certification of the recount vote.

What this means in practical terms is that it could be weeks or months before either Franken or Coleman can take their seat in the U.S. Senate.

JEWS WORLDWIDE RESPOND TO HAMAS

Pamela Geller, who at Atlas Shrugs has done a yeoman's work in covering the Israeli-Gaza conflict and providing news you won't find anywhere else, is reporting that Jews all over the world are responding to Hamas' claim that Israel's incursion into Gaza is a 'Holocaust.'

Jewish Holocaust survivors are condemning the depiction as a desecration of the memory of those who lost their lives in the real Holocaust against the Jews during World War II.

In response, Holocaust survivors and their families have launched an international campaign to protest the depiction of the current crisis in Gaza as a 'Holocaust.'

Indeed, Jews all over the world are swimming against the current as they combat attempts by Islamic extremists through the mainstream media and certain governments to portray the Israelis as the bad guys in this crisis.

For example, the UK has erupted into a boiling cauldron of Jihadists who are calling for death to the Jews. This is the direct result of the U.K.'s failure to control immigration by dangerous individuals with a political-social agenda and its overt attempt to embrace these extremists by providing them with certain concessions, such as allowing Sharia law to prevail in certain areas of the country.

Meanwhile, in Paris the terrorist sympathizers are targeting Jews as they burn, rob, and pillage, creating havoc in their wake, just as they have done periodically over the past 4 years.

And in the most explosive revelation of all, Geller reports that terrorist sympathizers have targeted Jewish synagogues in the United States. Their plan is to attend Jewish worship services and disrupt them by shouting, 'Stop the killing in Gaza!'

Part of the blame for such rabble-rousing is the notion that Israel is deliberately targeting civilians, including children, in Gaza. This has been the tone of many news stories in the mainstream media.

What they fail to report, however, is that Palestinian extremists are using school buildings, women, and children, as shields, even using schools as launching pads from which to bombard Israel with mortar fire.

This surveillance video shows Hamas using a U.N. school in Gaza to fire mortars at Israelis.

It is clear, then, that if Hamas terrorists are intent on starting a war, then they should have enough honor and courage to step out from behind their human shields and take it like soldiers instead of the yellow-bellied scumbags that they are.

Gun Pundit has THE must-read of the week, and it's time to be very very afraid!

Pax Parabellum reports that some shenanigans are going on with the Brady Campaign's Minnesota chapters of the 'Million Moms' with regard to guns. It seems Minnesota has become the Mecca of graft and corruption these days.

Sipsy Street Irregulars posts an intriguing bit of news that while the rest of the country suffers from layoffs and a shrinking job market, the FBI is going on a hiring spree. It seems that the only thing that does well in hard times is 'big gub'ment.'

COMMISSAR PELOSI MUZZLES HOUSE GOP!

Demonstrating that she has absolutely no desire for debate, differences of opinion, or bipartisanship, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has initiated the process to change the fairness rules that have governed the House since 1994, essentially ending any GOP input on proposed legislation.

Commissar Pelosi plans to muzzle any potential GOP opposition to liberal legislation proposed by Democrats. The mechanism she plans to use in order to accomplish this totalitarian form of rule is to abolish House procedures that require that the minority Party have opportunity to debate proposed legislation.

According to Human Events:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to re-write House rules today to ensure that the Republican minority is unable to have any influence on legislation. Pelosi’s proposals are so draconian, and will so polarize the Capitol, that any thought President-elect Obama has of bipartisan cooperation will be rendered impossible before he even takes office.

The planned rules change was met with outrage by House Republicans, who drafted a letter sent directly to the Speaker, a letter which outlined their reasons for vehemently opposing the rules change.

Again, according to the article,

Pelosi’s proposed repeal of decades-long House accountability reforms exposes a tyrannical Democrat leadership poised to assemble legislation in secret, then goose-step it through Congress by the elimination of debate and amendment procedures as part of America’s governing legislative process.

This kind of behavior on the part of our elected officials should not tolerated in a society that prides itself on open government and dissent, particularly Democratic liberals who talk a good game but behave very differently when they are in power.

Unions, Environmentalists Scheme to Rob Pensions!

Earlier today, Americans for Limited Government announced that it had formally asked Labor Secretary Elaine Chao to launch an immediate investigation into a well-orchestrated plan by top union officials, environmentalists, and political interest groups to raid worker pension funds in order to push the green agenda.

Americans for Limited Government has the full report.

This is an outrage that is being conducted against American citizens without their knowledge. But now that the cat is out of the bag, we can only hope somebody will stop these despicable thieves.

'08 Sea Ice Level Highest Since 1979

Despite the dire predictions of environmentalist extremist nutcases who warned that Arctic sea ice was melting at an unprecedented rate, the year 2008 closed out with the highest level of sea ice since 1979.

According to the University of Illinois' Arctic Climate Research Center, satellite images of the polar regions show that the level of ice is at the same level recorded in 1979--the first year satellite images were used to gauge sea ice levels.

A key excerpt from the report:

Earlier this year, predictions were rife that the North Pole could melt entirely in 2008. Instead, the Arctic ice saw a substantial recovery. Bill Chapman, a researcher with the UIUC's Arctic Center, tells DailyTech this was due in part to colder temperatures in the region. Chapman says wind patterns have also been weaker this year. Strong winds can slow ice formation as well as forcing ice into warmer waters where it will melt.

I suppose this means, of course, that the polar bear will immediately be removed from the endangered species list, given that the prediction that very soon the Arctic would completely melt didn't pan out.

Wonder how long we'll be waiting for that one...

Malkin Highlights Original Gun Rights Stories

Michelle Malkin, Fox News Contributor, syndicated columnist, and blogger, has highlighted a few familiar blogs for their original, breaking stories concerning gun rights.

Malkin's objective in the piece is to show that conservative bloggers do real news stories, including investigative reporting and tracking down facts that lead to breaking news reports one can't find anywhere else.

Among those listed are 3 bloggers with whom most of us are very familiar:

Several blogs did enterprising work on Obama’s proposal to ban guns within 5 miles of schools: Arms and the Law, Volokh Conspiracy and Outrageous Malfunction (here and here) broke the story.

Malkin has invited any conservative blogger who broke an original story to send her the information at the link you will find in her post.

A CALL FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION

Now is the time to contact our key figures in the Senate to urge them to derail the nomination of Eric Holder for Attorney-General.

As you will read on practically every single 2nd Amendment rights blog in the country, Holder is a very dangerous choice when it comes to gun rights.

And anyone who is that cavalier about 2nd Amendment rights will not think twice about violating our First Amendment rights as well.

Contacting key Senators is relatively simple, when you follow the instructions provided at Western Rifle Shooters Association. There you will find a letter from Jeff Knox of the Firearms Coalition, along with a sample letter to send to Senators. You will also find a list of the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

In order to place a call to one of the Senators on the Committee, you can find all of the listings of the members of the Senate and House in the left column of The Liberty Sphere. Just scroll down until you see the link to the U.S. Congress. Click on the link and go from there.

Confirmation hearings on the Holder nomination are scheduled for Jan. 15. So, the time to act is now.

DERAIL THAT TRAIN!

U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi stated that she would place the Obama agenda 'on the fast track' when the House reconvenes.

This seems to be the Obama game plan. Get as much done as quickly as possible in the first few weeks of the new administration.

But wait just a minute here.

A TRILLION DOLLAR package awaits the approval of Congress that they have only one week to read before the vote.

It's time to derail that train!

How in heaven's name can a conscientious Representative or Senator vote in good conscience on a bill they have never read? Yes, I know it's done, but it's a shoddy way to do government.

We had better know what's in that bill before it is rammed down our throats.

The GOP in the House and Senate had better get ready for the onslaught. We know what the Democrats are doing to do. That gives the GOP time to get ready.

I say, block, block, block!

The country's march toward Socialism must stop NOW. And yes, the filibuster is appropriate under these circumstances.

We must block their attempts to complete the job of socializing the economy and business. We must block their nominees to the courts. These two things are of absolute necessity. This is no time for the faint of heart.

Hamas Whines About 'Women and Children'

War is hell. By its very definition it is relentless, merciless, and brutal. This is why those whose actions start wars are among the lowest forms of life on the planet.

Hamas certainly falls within that category.

As usual, when Muslim terrorists start wars by unleashing acts of barbarism against innocent civilians, as they have always done in Israel, and as they occasionally do in other areas, they immediately begin to whine about their women and children who are killed when civilized nations defend themselves against their actions.

These are the very people who will not hesitate to use women and children as suicide bombers in acts of terror.

Therefore, they are due absolutely no sympathy but our harshest condemnation.

If Hamas, Hezbollah, and other Islamic terrorists are so concerned about their women and children who inadvertently get caught in the crossfires when nations such as Israel take reasonable action to protect their citizens, then these terrorist groups would immediately stop firing rockets into Israel that kill their innocent women and children.

If you break into my house, fire shots at me and my loved ones, and get killed when I open fire on you for doing so, then I'm sorry as I can be, but you deserve what you got, bud.

And that goes for Hamas.

You won't see me shedding a single tear over their precious women and children, who, by the way, are often used as human shields by the yellow-bellied low-lives who perpetrate violence but refuse to suffer the consequences.

Yet Another Scandal Rocks Obama Team

With the announcement by New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson that he is withdrawing his nomination to be Barack Obama's Commerce Secretary, the Obama team has been rocked with yet another scandal.

Never before in modern history has an administration been so thoroughly defined by corruption and scandal, even before the new team officially takes office.

Despite those who are willing to give Obama the benefit of the doubt on the Blagojevich scandal, the fact remains that we have yet to see all of the evidence that continues to be collected by federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald on the alleged scheme to sell Obama's Senate seat to the highest bidder.

It would be the height of naivete to believe that neither Obama nor his staff chief Rahm Emanuel had contact with Blagojevich concerning the seat, since it belonged to Obama, and since all three are part of the infamous Chicago political machine.

In addition, it is odd that most of Obama's closest longterm associates and friends are of dubious reputation at best.

And then there is Norman Hsu, who could very well further taint the careers of both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton before his trial is over. Hsu's Ponzi scheme to raise money for Obama and Clinton could implicate both.

Now we discover that Bill Richardson, Obama's nominee for Commerce Secretary, is under a federal investigation for corruption.

Obama and the Democrats clearly have a culture of corruption at present. And the Obama team will take office under a heavy cloud of suspicion.
